🌱 Fresh From Our Garden 🌱

Our little learners at Pat A Cake Learning Academy have been learning how to grow and harvest their own vegetables through our Big Green Learning Garden Grant. We received raised garden beds, seeds, soil, supplies, and trainings to help bring this hands on experience to life.

So far, we have grown okra, green beans, tomatoes, and a variety of peppers. The children even enjoyed a fresh veggie taste test straight from the garden. 🍅🫑🌿

We love creating fun, hands on learning experiences that teach healthy habits, responsibility, and teamwork.

May is Safe Kids Month! Safe Kids Month is a national celebration dedicated to inspiring parents to take simple steps that help keep their kids safe as they get ready for summer. Preventable injuries are the number one cause of death among children ages 1-19 in the U.S., and millions more are injured in ways that can affect them for a lifetime.

Throughout the month, experts from our nearly 400 Safe Kids coalitions across the country will work directly with children, families, and caregivers in their communities to provide tips, information, and safety devices.
