A History of Success
Memorial Day School was established in 1971 by the membership of Memorial Baptist Church in the belief that an educational experience based on academic excellence and Christian principles should be provided for young people in the community. Although started by the Baptist denomination, Memorial has operated as a non-denominational Christian School since its beginning. Its history is steeped in a rich tradition of providing a strong college preparatory curriculum supported by a highly competent and motivated faculty. Through its many diverse extra-curricular offerings Memorial’s students have been afforded the opportunity to apply their knowledge and talents in a variety of academic competitive events including literary, debate, public speaking, drama, and music, with many resulting in regional and state titles. Additionally, Memorial has been very successful on the field of competition with its many athletic programs. With a focus on the development of the total individual, its student athletes are known by their opponents for their mental and physical toughness. With a proud history in football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, golf, and competitive cheerleading, Memorial has been honored with numerous regional and state championships.
