🎯 I'm so excited to introduce our new series: Sunday Success Goals!

One of the best gifts we can give our children this school year is the habit of setting goals. My hope is that this weekly series will help families build healthy habits, strong character, and consistent routines...one week at a time.

Ask your child to set their own goals. (Your job? Make sure they're not too vague. Keep them specific and measureable.)

Need help choosing the first two goals? I've put together a list of academic and personal goal ideas to help them get started!

Remember: Don't try to complete every goal on the list.

βœ… Choose ONE Academic Goal
βœ… Choose ONE Personal Goal

Throughout the week, check in with your child and encourage them to reflect by asking:

β€’ Am I on track to meet my goals?
β€’ What helped me succeed?
β€’ What can I improve?

Here's to a school year filled with growth, confidence, and small steps that lead to big success!

Happy Goal Setting! 🎯

🎯 Parent PSA: One of the Best Habits You Can Teach Your Child This School Year...

As we prepare for another school year, I'd like to introduce a simple habit that can make a big difference in your child's confidence, organization, and independence.

Weekly Goal Planning.
Every Sunday evening (or Monday morning), spend 5–10 minutes helping your child set two goals for the week.

I recommend:
βœ… One Academic Goal
βœ… One Personal or Social Goal

Goals should be:
βœ… Age-appropriate
βœ… Realistic
βœ… Measurable

Instead of:
❌ "I'm going to do better in school."

Try:
βœ”οΈ Read for 20 minutes Monday–Thursday.
βœ”οΈ Turn in every homework assignment this week.
βœ”οΈ Proof read before turning in my assignments.
βœ”οΈ Introduce myself to at least one new classmate.

At the end of the week, celebrate what went well, talk about any challenges, and set two new goals for the following week.

Over the next several weeks, I'll be sharing Sunday Success Goals that parents can use with their children each week. I hope you'll join me! Make sure to follow us to stay in the loop.

πŸ“š A little "old school" advice for the new school year...

With Georgia schools limiting student cell phone use during instructional time this year, now is the perfect time to bring back a classic tool that many of us grew up using...

πŸ“ A student planner or agenda book.

Before smartphones and digital calendars, this little book was our lifeline. Homework. Upcoming tests. Project deadlines. Teacher reminders. We wrote it all down.

And honestly...it still works.

πŸ’‘ Consider investing in a planner for your child this school year. It can help them:
βœ”οΈ Keep track of homework assignments
βœ”οΈ Remember quizzes and tests
βœ”οΈ Stay organized with long-term projects
βœ”οΈ Build responsibility and independence
βœ”οΈ Develop organizational habits they'll use long after school

Technology is a wonderful tool, but sometimes pen and paper help students stay focused without the distractions that come with a device.

A $5–$15 planner could end up being one of the best school supplies you purchase this year.

Parents, did anyone else carry one of these back in the day? πŸ˜‚ Drop a πŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ if you remember writing down every assignment before leaving class!

"This is so easy! I wish my teachers had taught it to me this way."

Moments like this remind me that confidence often comes before achievement. 🩡

We are entering the last month of Summer Enrichment, and there is still time to make a meaningful difference before school starts.

In just 4 weeks, students can strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and head into the new school year ready to succeed.

πŸ“’ Parents: Don't walk into your child's IEP meeting without knowing this.

A new school year means new goals, new services, and new conversations about student support.

One of the most important things you can understand is the difference between an accommodation and a modification.

They sound similar, but they can have very different impacts on a student's educational experience.

Take 60 seconds to review this guide and feel more confident heading into your next IEP meeting.

πŸ’‘ Knowledge is one of the best tools a parent can bring to the table.
