Hello everyone, it appears that all that I was posting on Instagram and thought was being posted here was not.
We have been in a type of hybrid this last month and I will be out of 10 day quarantine Saturday. My youngest brought COVID into the house. This was our second go around and not all got it. This second round of COVID was much better than the first.
I look forward to being in class Monday and hope hybrid ends soon. I have a new group of students and have been using my persona especial novice interviews and the students seem very interested and engaged. I am not using a lot of technology. Calendar talks have also done well now that we have things kids are doing.
What is your January looking like? What has gone well and what hasn’t gone well?

My little 2 year old 👦🏼 says some of the most fascinating things with just a few words. Sure it’s not grammatically correct but the thoughts 💭 are there and he relays them to me with the words he has acquired so far.
Comprehensible Input has made my students enjoy Spanish class. They look forward to class more than they did before I switched to CI.
We can also talk 🗣about very deep culture in the Target language. (La Guerra Sucia, The Spanish Civil War and compare it to the US Civil War, Human Rights, dating customs, siestas, folktales, video game and gamers in other countries compared to the US,….)

So true 🙌! Advocate for reading in day one of Spanish class! Students can read from day 1 at the novice level, you just need to set them up for success.
My favorite first day activity is Card Talk- so simple and you can complete your first write & discuss as a class and complete a choral reading while all the other classes are going over procedure. Advocate for reading 📖 in the target language at all levels.
