📚🚀 Butler Families, Let’s Build Strong Readers Together!

We are excited to share the 2026–2027 Parent Literacy Project, designed to help parents and caregivers build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and learn simple strategies to support their child’s reading at home.

Families can receive virtual support from dedicated tutors and practical strategies for helping children grow as readers. Space is limited, so interested families are encouraged to apply using the QR code on the flyer.

🎨🌎 Team Butler is traveling through ART with our fabulous art teacher, Mr. Rogers!🐻💙

Our Butler Bears have been exploring art, history, and culture through some amazing hands-on experiences in the art room!

🖐🏽 4th & 5th Grade – Exploring Indian art and culture through beautiful henna-inspired designs

🏺 2nd Grade – Traveling back to Ancient Greece and creating Greek-inspired vases

🦖 1st Grade – Stepping WAY back in time with dinosaurs

🪨🎨 Kindergarten – Discovering early artistic expression through cave art

👏🏽 Shout-out to the fabulous Mr. Rogers for bringing history, culture, and creativity to life for our Bears! His art room is taking students around the world and back in time one masterpiece at a time! 🎨🌍✨

Tonight’s Scouts of America Information Meeting was a success! We were excited to see so many families come out to learn more about the opportunities and adventures available through scouting.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended and continues to support our Butler Bears! Your involvement helps us give students opportunities to learn, grow, lead, and explore beyond the classroom. 💙🐻

🔥📚 Two Programs. One Goal. Supporting Our Butler Bears! 🐻💙

Today, we officially kicked off Ignite Reading and READ United Buddies at Butler Elementary! 🎉📖

And we didn’t do it alone! We were grateful to have the support of two outstanding community and district leaders throughout the day:

⭐ Ms. Washington, Savannah-Chatham County Public School System Senior Director of Initiatives & Special Projects
⭐ Cheri Dean, United Way of the Coastal Empire Vice President of Impact

They jumped right in, rolled up their sleeves, and helped wherever an extra set of hands was needed! 🙌🏽

That’s what meaningful, hands-on support looks like: not just showing up, but pitching in and making an impact. 💙

We are grateful to everyone who helped make today’s kickoffs a success, and for the time, energy, and support you invested in our Butler Bears as we launch these important literacy initiatives. It truly takes a team! 🐻💙🙌🏽

If so, United Way of the Coastal Empire READ United Buddies needs YOU! 🤝📖

Become a Read United Buddy and provide one-on-one reading support to a second-grade student while helping them build stronger reading skills, greater confidence, and a love for reading! 🌟

🗓️ Choose a schedule that works for you:
📘 Mondays & Wednesdays
OR
📗 Tuesdays & Thursdays

⏰ Approximately 1 hour each day, twice a week

You don’t have to be a teacher to make a difference; you just need a little time and a heart for helping children succeed! ❤️
