This week’s Bethesda Spotlight shines on one of our new teachers, Ms. E’Lona Levett! A native of Savannah, Georgia, Ms. Levett earned an associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Savannah Technical College, a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Savannah State University, and a master’s degree in Mathematics Education from the American College of Education.
This year marks her 13th year as a high school educator. Although this is her first year teaching at Bethesda Academy, she has been a part of the Bethesda family since 2008, when her brother, Alonzo, was a student. Alonzo graduated from Bethesda in 2011.
We are grateful to have Ms. Levett sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion for education with our young men. Welcome to the Bethesda faculty!

Happy What’s Up Wednesday!
It has been another amazing week here at Bethesda Academy! Our students enjoy gathering each morning, and some take the opportunity to read a good book before announcements begin. Our teachers continue to create engaging lessons and meaningful experiences that make learning exciting.
Coach Walker, our high school history teacher, took several of his senior government students to The Pink House for an etiquette class. They also toured City Hall to learn more about our local government and see firsthand how it operates. What a wonderful educational experience!
Congratulations again to junior Jordan Turner, who was named the Savannah Quarterback Club’s Week 2 Offensive Player of the Week!
At Bethesda, learning is always happening, whether at the flagpole, in the classroom, or on a field trip. We are proud of all our students and their accomplishments in the classroom, on the field, and throughout the community.
It’s always a great day to be a Blazer!

This week’s Bethesda Spotlight shines on Matthew Holden, a proud member of Bethesda Academy’s Class of 2018!
Matthew’s caring heart was evident throughout high school, as he consistently went out of his way to help teachers and fellow students. That same compassion has led him to a career dedicated to helping others every day.
Matthew has served with Lee County Fire and EMS and Webster County EMS. He also volunteers with the Webster County Fire Department, continuing to make a meaningful difference in his community. From serving others at Bethesda to serving people throughout his community, one thing about Matthew has never changed, his big heart!
We are incredibly proud of the man Matthew has become and grateful to call him a Bethesda alumnus!

Happy What’s Up Wednesday! We are grateful to share another week of exciting things happening at Bethesda Academy! Our students who participate in Xcel classes are learning so much! In addition to valuable life skills, they are gaining hands-on experience in automotive technology, HVAC, welding, sketching, and schematic-reading skills in the vocational lab. They continue to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and confidence!

Our middle school football team came up short against Pinewood Christian Academy, but they played their best, and we could not be prouder of them!
Our young men also enjoy their P.E. classes, especially when it is pool day!
We would like to congratulate our 2026 graduate, KJ James, on being elected Freshman Class President at SSU! We are incredibly proud of him and cannot wait to see how he uses his leadership skills to help his class succeed.
As always, it’s a great day to be a Blazer!
