💜🩵 Small conversations can make a big difference.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, and at Pat A Cake Learning Academy, we believe emotional well being matters at every age. While conversations with young children will look different from conversations with adults, children still need safe spaces to talk about their feelings, ask questions, and know that someone is listening.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply notice, listen, reassure, and reach out. Teaching children that it is okay to talk about difficult feelings helps build trust, connection, and healthy ways to ask for help as they grow.

This month and every month, let’s make room for conversations that remind both children and adults that they matter, their feelings matter, and help is available.

💛 THIS is what it means to FIND THE GOOD! 💛

Our hearts are full of gratitude for the Junior League of Savannah and their incredible support through the Teacher Wishlist Campaign for Find the Good Day! More than 70 teachers applied, and only 12 were chosen. We are incredibly thankful that our preschool classroom at Pat A Cake Learning Academy was one of them! 🥹💛

Our preschool classroom received a new laminator, laminating pouches, wooden community helpers and vehicles, a magnetic wall decal, a new book, and a preschool daily calendar. 📚✨ These are more than classroom supplies. They are tools that will help us create meaningful learning experiences, encourage exploration, and bring new lessons to life for our preschoolers.

There is something powerful about simply choosing to do good. One act of kindness can reach further than we may ever know, especially when that kindness is poured into the lives and education of children. ❤️

🔴🟠🟡 We Celebrated Dot Day! 🟢🔵🟣

Yesterday at Pat A Cake Learning Academy, our little learners celebrated Dot Day with creativity, color, and lots of fun.

Every dot became a chance to create, explore, and practice those important fine-motor skills. Just look at that concentration!

💙 When families and educators learn together, our children benefit!

Pat-A-Cake Learning Academy was proud to have one of our administrative staff members and one of our preschool parents attend an informative session with the Marcus Autism Center to learn more about supporting children with autism and their individual needs.

Marcus Autism Center, a part of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, provides services, research, education, and resources that support children with autism, their families, and the professionals who work alongside them.

One meaningful topic discussed was elopement and wandering. Every child is unique, and understanding what may lead a child to wander can help families and caregivers create supportive safety plans that meet the child’s individual needs. 💙
