😮💨 Burnout is no joke...especially for creative musicians. The old saying "You can't pour from an empty cup" is 💯 accurate.
Whether you're currently in a season of burnout, working through it, or just feeling creatively exhausted- we'd love to invite you to our upcoming virtual Piano Teacher Reset Retreat.
No travel plans, no airports or connecting flights. Just 3 days of connecting, learning, and creating together to remember your "Why" to channel your creativity into improvising and composing at the piano.
At the end of big conferences, we leave with crumpled handouts and a brain full of so much information that it can be overwhelming. At the end of the Improvisation Reset, you'll leave with recordings and resources from every session and workshop, a clear map of strategies to help YOU stay connected to music and sustainable ways to help your students use improvising and composing!
Comment BURNOUT and we'll send over the link with the retreat schedule and registration so you can save your spot while seats are still available. We can't wait to Reset together. 🌊

🤪When my piano looks like this, you know it’s been a fun day…truly! What a joy to teach first lessons to two new students this week (one bright, energetic young beginner + one lovely transfer student.)
The mess on the piano is reflective of our first lessons together:
🪄 using fun activities to explore rhythm, movement, learning to sit at the piano, singing and improvising together to see all the magic that music has to offer
✨ and helping ignite a spark in a sweet student who has worked so hard the past several years in piano, but never really felt a connection to the music they’ve played.
What a delightfully fun task to bring out ALL the music, play/listen together and rate it to see what they liked- and witness their complete surprise when they heard jazz and ragtime for the first time (they’re hooked!)!
My favorite moments were when the youngest new musician said “your clock is a trickster” when I announced that the lesson had to stop, and when the sweet older student (grinning widely) asked to borrow music to take home this week! 🤩 Mess on the piano= signs of joy, musicing and beautiful discovery.
😀 what do you love about those first piano lessons?
