Dear Parent/Guardian:

We believe that your involvement with your child’s education is essential to their academic and future success. To honor our commitment to provide the best possible educational experience for your child and work with you in that effort, we would like to invite the families of all students served by Title I to help us to revise our family engagement budget, school- parent grade level compacts, family engagement policy, school improvement plan and give input on how we train our staff to work with families. This will take place at our annual Family Forums.

The forums are scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 1 pm in the Georgetown K-8 School Media Center (Largo Site).

The Title I planning that we are doing for the 2026-2027 school year with you will include family engagement strategies, activities and services for programs that may be offered at our school such as those for students who are limited English proficient, disabled, migratory, homeless, economically disadvantaged or in need of additional academic assistance.

Together with you, we will develop plans that will assist in determining:
β€’ The academic progress of our students.
β€’ The identification of our strengths and areas for improvement.
β€’ The removal of any barriers that may prevent parents/families from fully participating as a partner in their child’s education.

You may contact Lily Morgan at 912-395-3475 or at [email protected] if you have any questions related to Title I services.

Congratulations to our Georgetown K-8 School 2027-2028 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Katherine Bernard. Mrs. Bernard serves all of our K–8th students as our Spanish teacher, and her impact is felt in every hallway, every classroom, and across every grade level. Through her engaging instruction, she not only builds students’ language skills but also broadens their cultural awareness and confidence as global learners. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Bernard goes above and beyond through her involvement in numerous community programs and initiatives, consistently representing the heart of GTK8. She embodies what it means to be Equipped, Engaged, and Empowered, and her passion for students shines in everything she does.
