🦁 Meet Officer APO Brenda Johnson

If you’ve been around Georgetown K-8, chances are you already know APO Brenda Johnson and if you don’t, you’re definitely missing out!

APO Johnson has spent nearly 40 years in law enforcement, including an incredible 27 years with the Savannah-Chatham Board of Education Police Department. For the past 11½ years, she has proudly called Georgetown K-8 home, where she has served as an SRO and a true Georgetown Lion.

Known for her big heart, quick sense of humor, and genuine love for young people, APO Johnson believes that keeping students safe is only part of the job, building relationships, encouraging them, and helping them become successful and productive citizens is just as important.

After nearly four decades of service, APO Johnson plans to retire on December 31, 2026. While she’s looking forward to the next chapter, Georgetown K-8 and BOE PD is not quite ready to let APO Johnson go!

A Few Fun Facts
When she’s not keeping Georgetown safe, you might find her hanging out with friends, fishing, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, or cooking up something delicious on one of her FOUR grills. Yes…four grills! Apparently, one grill is simply not enough. 😂

APO Johnson may be counting down to retirement, but her heart will always be with Georgetown K-8. We are grateful for her years of service, her laughter, her dedication, and the countless students she has encouraged along the way. One of the best to do it!

Greetings, Georgetown K-8 Families, The Pride has returned to the Lion’s Den! We are so excited to return to our home campus at 1516 King George Blvd and welcome our Lions for the 2026-2027 school year. Tomorrow, Thursday, July 30th, will be Open House for Grades K-8 from 4:00-6:00. Come out to meet your child’s teacher and get important information about starting this amazing school year. Be mindful that construction is still taking place on our new gym. Families will be able to park in the front and on the side of the building, but will only be allowed to enter through the main entrance for security screening. Additionally, PowerSchool is now live, and you can see your child's schedule in advance. We can’t wait to see you all tomorrow for our Open House. Welcome Home Lions!
