Knowing your shin angle matters! In this upcoming phase we’re focused on developing the posterior chain so get used to various types of hinging. Demonstrated here are a Romanian Deadlift (RDL), traditional deadlift, and a squat, for comparison. Any hinge will target glutes and hamstrings, a squat targets glutes and quads.
As always, be sure to contract your core; creating solid abdominal pressure, and do your best not hyperextended your hips at the top; creating pinching in the low back.

In this series, we will build total-body pulling strength! Expect to progressively develop pull-ups, deadlifts, sled push/pull. For the Base Phase, focus on movement quality. Ask yourself if you’re engaging the right muscles with a special focus on the posterior chain.
