Baby Signs With Carol

Baby Signs With Carol "Talk to Your Baby Before Your Baby Can Talk" using simple sign language designed for babies. It's fun and as easy as teaching your baby to say Bye-Bye!!

Do you ever wonder what your baby is thinking? Or why your baby is crying? Babies have so much to say- but without words, communication can be frustrating. Now there's an effective way to avoid those tears and tantrums by teaching babies how to "talk" with their hands using the Baby Signs® Program - based on simple signs that allow babies and toddlers to communicate what they see, what they need,

and even how they feel. Child development experts Linda Acredolo, Ph.D. and Susan Goodwyn, Ph.D. developed the Baby Signs® Program for infants and toddlers ages 6-36 months. Their National Institutes of Health research showed that the Baby Signs® Program:
* Reduces frustration and builds trust
* Strengthens the parent/child bond
* Promotes positive emotional development
* Helps babies learn to talk sooner
* Jumpstarts intellectual development.

Language in everyday moments. Practice using signs while engaging your child in everyday language moments. For example: In this picture the father is telling the baby about the apple. Using the sign APPLE - Twist bent index finger on cheek, helps baby learn the concept, the word and how to communicate the word before he can talk. Daddy can also expand on the word apple by talking about its texture, color, RED - Place index finger on lips, stroke downward one time; and what the apple tastes like, sweet or tart. By doing this daddy has now given his baby information about the object, what the object is, how to say and sign the object and an abundance of vocabulary words instead of just saying, "It's an apple."

Use these ideas to help children learn all day long.

Registration for the next session of Baby Signs Classes is now open through ISD #196 in Apple Valley!

Help your baby/toddler talk before they can talk! Using signs opens communication for your baby in ways you will be amazed by. They can share their world, their feelings, and what they want or need with you. Children need to be able to tell us what they think and need. Until they can talk they are literally trapped in their minds except to point and whine or cry. Give your child the joy of communicating with you in a productive way before he can even talk.
