Norris Events Center News Information LSSU’s Norris Center is Lake Superior State University's home for Fitness Activities, and University and Community Events and Rentals.

LSSU University Recreation is a department on the campus of Lake Superior State University whose goal is to create an active, safe, and healthy living atmosphere for the students at Lake State. We do this by providing a variety of extracurricular activities to the student body through our programs under Intramural Activities, Club Sports, and other general physical fitness programs that take place

On Monday August 3rd work will begin to repair the sidewalk out front of the Norris Center Main Entrance. That entrance will be closed until the work is finished.

The Bell Tower entrance will be open as the main entrance to the building. Another notice will be sent out when the work switches sides and the Main Entrance reopens.

The Student Activity Center Courts and Track will be closed off all day Tuesday August 4th for the City of Sault Ste. Marie’s Primary Election.

The fitness area will remain open 6am to 8pm.

The Arbuckle Student Activity Center will be closing today, Wednesday July 1st, at 11am and will be closed through July 4th. This is due to safety concerns for facility users from the amount of moisture accumulating on the floors and equipment from the high humidity. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The facility is planned to reopen July 5th at 8am.

The Norris Center will be cash or check only beginning tomorrow and going through the weekend as we work on software updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The Arbuckle Student Activity Center courts are all closed for the remainder of the day due to moisture on the floor from the high humidity.

We will communicate again in the morning about the status of the courts for tomorrow.

The Norris Center will be closed Friday July 3rd and Saturday July 4th. Regular hours resume July 5th.

Effective immediately, the services provided by the Superior Sports Pro have been suspended. This includes skate sharpening and hockey equipment sales.
As a part of the exciting renovations in Taffy Abel, an updated retail store will (re)open in the fall. Additional details regarding the re-opening will be provided as they become available.

All Student Activity Center Courts are reserved Saturday 6/20 and Sunday 6/21 for LSSU Men’s Basketball Team Camp.

The Superior Sports Proshop will be temporarily relocating to the ROC at the north end of the building past the locker rooms during the Taffy Abel renovations this summer.
