chnology Senior Design team composed of six senior engineering students. Team AMORE has three primary goals: compete in the Virtual RobotX (VRX) Challenge, compete in the 2022 Maritime RobotX Challenge, and establish a RobotX club within LSSU. Both the VRX and the physical challenge involve a Wave Adaptive Modular Vehicle (WAM-V) unmanned surface vehicle (USV) and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The two mobile robots work together as an Autonomous Maritime System (AMS) to complete a series of maritime tasks that involve navigation and object detection. The purpose of the VRX and 2022 Maritime RobotX Challenge is to advance technology, practices, and engineers in the fields of autonomous vehicles, autonomous maritime operations, and system engineering and integration. Establishing a RobotX club at LSSU will allow future students to engage in a competitive, educational experience that ranges from marketing to systems engineering. The VRX competition takes place in a virtual environment, and the physical competition is at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, located in Penrith, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. To create an operational AMS, Team AMORE will work together with students from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano to design and test propulsion systems, control systems, and guidance systems. Team AMORE needs the help of community and corporate members to raise funds for the acquisition of necessary components and equipment and for securing international transportation for the AMS.
