Sault Ste. Marie MomCo — Our Group Guidelines
🌼How We Talk to Each Other
What gets shared at MomCo (and our Bible study) stays with us. This is meant to be a safe, confidential space where you can be real, be vulnerable, and share what’s actually going on in your life — without worrying it’ll travel beyond our meetings.
Because of that, gossip just isn’t okay here. We’ve worked hard to build a group where women feel safe to open up, and we want to protect that.
We also want everyone to have room to talk! We know it’s easy to get going once you start sharing (we love that about you!), but try to leave space for the other moms at your table too. So many of us spend our days talking mostly to little ones — having a real, grown-up conversation where you feel heard is kind of the whole point of MomCo.
🌼Keeping Our Kids Safe and Cared For
Our conversations go deep — everything from the everyday chaos of motherhood to harder topics like marriage struggles, miscarriage, s*x, abuse, trauma, breastfeeding, and more. Because of that, we ask that kids over 18 months hang out in our childcare rooms during meetings. We totally get that sometimes a little one just needs a minute with mom — that’s okay! The goal is just getting them back to their room when they’re ready. And don’t worry, our childcare workers are all screened and trained by Emily Lane, so your kiddos are in great hands. Honestly, some of them might just become your favorite babysitters!
In the childcare rooms, we use a three-strikes approach. Our childcare team works so hard and genuinely loves on our kids — but just so everyone’s clear, they’re not there to discipline your child. If a child is acting aggressively toward other kids or the caregivers, or keeps ignoring redirection, that earns a strike, and Emily will connect with you and the childcare worker to chat about what’s going on.
Please, please RSVP your kids each week! It helps us make sure we’ve got enough hands on deck — we’d always rather be over-prepared than caught short-staffed.
🌼Allergies: Let Emily know about any allergies your child has. Our snacks are already gluten-, dye-, peanut-, and dairy-free, but if your little one needs something beyond that, tell us so we can make sure their childcare room is a safe space, snack-wise too.
We’re so grateful Calvary lets us use their space every week — let’s take good care of it! Please help clean up after your kids, and don’t leave children unattended in the building.
🌼Dues and Fees
MomCo international fees are listed in the attached image. Our group code for online registration is QFVO.
Your local dues genuinely make a difference — they go toward the little things that make our meetings feel personal, like supplies, snacks, and craft materials (think flowers for bouquet-building nights!). We’re so thankful we’ve been able to raise enough to cover childcare separately, which means dues are just $60 for the whole year now.
You can pay all at once ($60 by your first or second meeting), split it into two $30 payments across the season, or — if a different plan or a scholarship would help — just reach out to Emily Lane. She’d love to help make it work for you!
