Congratulations to Saugus High School senior Sydney Kasahara! Sydney was awarded an Los Angeles Firefighters Relief Association scholarship for $30,000 for an essay she wrote in a single hour, last month.

Her essay was clear, concise, structured and is going to allow her to head off to college with significantly less debt! This scholarship is going to pay for almost her entire 4 years of tuition at Cal State Long Beach.

She walked out of her essay and said “I totally won that!! Sydney sends an extra shout out to her English teachers, Mr Del Rio and Mr Botton. Congratulations, Sydney!

The Saugus High School Choir's Spring Concert is this Thursday and Friday night., May 14 and 15. Thursday night will feature just the Jazz and Concert choirs performing all of their songs from the year. They will be joined by the Cuesta College Singers.

Friday night will feature all of the choirs (Jazz, Concert, Show and Treble Choir) as well as the Saugus ASL class and the Arroyo Seco choir.
