Ok… (yes another post)

I couldn’t close Giant Steps without saying thank you to a few people… first to Shawn… Shawn, I don’t know how I got so lucky! You are not only an awesome husband , but you are my #1 supporter. You have been my rock and my partner for over 30 years (gosh we are old)! You have made so many sacrifices for me, and our family. When I first thought about opening a preschool, you were right there by my side.. and as I close the doors you are still right by my side… I love you honey and am so grateful for you. 😘
Next my kids.. Megan, Brian and Emily… they have spent many hours at the preschool throughout the years. I couldn’t ask for better kids!!! Thanks for putting up with me and for sharing me with so many other kids!! I love you guys!! 😘😘😘
I would also like to say thank you to my mom and my sisters. Without them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today!! You guys mean so much to me and ALWAYS are there to support me! Thinking back 10 years ago, it was Michelle who loaned me $5000 to buy tables and chairs and supplies to start this crazy journey…
My dad always told us to never say can’t, and not to give up… his work ethic and determination has made us all strive to be the best we can be!! 🍍 So to my family I say thank you for your love and encouragement 😘😘😘😘
Ms. Amanda and Ms. Lainey… you’re dedication and love for Giant Steps was/is incredible!! I am so fortunate you made Giant steps part of your lives! We have so many fun memories! I will always be grateful for all that you did for the children of Giant steps and for me!! 😘😘
And last, I have to say thank you to Ms. Karen…. Karen you are absolutely the most amazing person. I am truly honored to have worked with you over the last 9 1/2 years. The kids and I at Giant Steps are so lucky that you were apart of our lives. You are so much more than just “my employee “… you are my friend, my family!!! Who can say they have someone who worked with them, who in over 9 years has come to work without taking days off?? I can!!!! Your outstanding dedication to me and to Giant Steps, is far more than I can every truly thank you for. It just doesn’t seem possible that I am not going to see you everyday. You’ve gone through it all with me, the beginning, the good, the bad, the ugly, the amazing… and now the end… I wish you so much happiness!!
I love you and I love our friendship!! 🥰

Dream. That’s what I did about 11 years ago…
I have lived in Saugerties my whole live…. After staying home with my kids (who are by the way, 24,24, and almost 17) I decided that what our little town needed was a full day preschool program that was more like a second home than a “school”. A place where kids could play together, learn together, and grow together. With Shawn and my kids help, love and support, lots of paperwork, and “the right location” I took the Giant Step and opened Giant Steps in September 2012. And the rest they say is history….
Over the last 10 years I have welcomed so many families through the doors. I have laughed, I have learned, I have played, I have cried, I have taught, I have LOVED!!!! How amazing!!
My sister put together a video of the last 10 years, and in the video I got to see so many friends. So many families, so many past “steppers.” I am so lucky, so lucky that you all took the Giant Step with me and trusted me and welcomed me into your family. If there is something I have learned over the last 10 years, it is that family is what it’s all about. You are ALL part of my family… my Giant Steps family. There is no way to truly say thank you…

Although the doors to the preschool are closing, it’s not the end for me. I am not sure entirely what is next, but loving and teaching kids will always be in my path…. I couldn’t dream of a different way of life. Kids are my happiness. (Owning a business may not be my strong suit, but loving kids will never change)!!

So I will end this post saying “Thank you for being a friend!” We’ve traveled down the road to learning together… I will ALWAYS ALWAYS carry a piece of Giant Steps with me!!
