Woodstock Day School became a part of the community over 40 years ago, when it began as a small Preschool in the village of Woodstock. From these humble beginnings, our community has steadily nurtured and expanded the school to fill an important gap in the Hudson Valley, where options for a top tier end-to-end (Nursery - 12th Grade) progressive education have been limited, and changes in the region’s public education offerings have sent more families in search of strong alternatives. With mindful citizenship as a core value, along with commitment to unlocking the full potential in each child, what we send out into the world are not just outstanding students, but outstanding people.

Hands-on learning during this week's ongoing Middle School trip! From pressing apples to getting up close with some amphibian friends, students had plenty of opportunities to explore, ask questions, and learn by doing while away together this week.

Bags packed, groups gathered, and both our Middle and Upper School students are off on their multi-day overnight trips!

This morning was full of last-minute preparations, circles with classmates and teachers, and plenty of anticipation for the days ahead.

These annual trips are a chance to step outside the usual school routine, spend meaningful time together, build independence, and strengthen the connections that carry back into campus life.

Explorations at Woodstock Day School are Child + Parent/Caregiver Participation Classes for children ages 18 months - 3 years.

Led by WDS Art and Materials Specialist Jenny Ogg, children and caregivers will explore process art, sensory materials, music, movement, stories, and open-ended play - together.

The first day of school! We were so glad to welcome students and families back to campus this morning for the first time since June - plenty of hugs, smiles, reunions, and friendships already in action.

We began the year gathered together as a whole community before heading into the day. Our younger students followed their teachers into their classrooms, ready to explore, play, and begin again - while Middle and Upper School students took some time to circle up together on the lawn, under the mountain.
