Last week, I was honored to host the Artful Design Summer Camp! It was a fun week of drawing, painting, and getting a little messy!!! We have some amazing artists at Lee!

We painted:
🌻 Van Gogh’s Sunflowers
⭕️ Kandinsky’s Concentric Circles (forgot to take pictures)
🇺🇸 4th of July abstract painting and Rustic Flag
💐 Watercolor paintings

It was so fun seeing/hearing the kids as they paint and especially when they say in amazement “This looks good!” I am so thankful to have been apart of this fun week!! 🖼️🐊♥️

I had the extreme privilege to teach these amazing students last week in the Printing Plastics Summer Camp! Their excitement to learn, understand and see their design printing was so contagious and boy, did we learn a ton!!

We learned:
▪️the difference between 2D and 3D, additive and subtractive
▫️how to design in a CAD program to get their .STL file
▪️how to import and export our files
▫️how to use a Slicer program to change our .STL file to G Code
▪️overall safety when using a 3D printer
▫️how to load and unload filament
▪️how to save to a jump drive to be able to print their design
▫️ how to find pre-made designs and download files to print
▪️how to print their designs and carefully remove from printer when completed
▫️how 3D printing can be used in businesses and how it can benefit others

I am one blessed teacher to have been a small part in showing these kids something new! I am forever grateful to have met these wonderful kids and hope they had one fabulous week! ♥️🐊🎉

NASA gave a press conference today on their updated plans to build a base on the surface of the moon.

The moon base is a core part of NASA’s Artemis program of crewed lunar exploration. Artemis aims to establish a permanent human presence on and around the moon over the next decade or so, developing knowledge and skills that can help get astronauts to Mars in the not-too-distant future.

Here’s what that plan looks like

This week we learned about Georgia O’Keeffe! First woman to have a solo exhibition at MMOA in 1946. Won the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977! This is by far my favorite art piece we have done! Can’t wait for everyone to see them!
