COPS-1 is a local nonprofit organization that provides personal safety and self-defense training in many forms to the citizens and law enforcement agencies of the communities in the local region. Proceeds from events benefit local law enforcement.

- UPDATE: Where is the Makowski's Martial Arts(MMA) Sign?
WE ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS AND ACCEPTING STUDENTS FOR TAEKWONDO & KRAV MAGA TRAINING.
Route 228/Ekastown Road is being widened. If you travel the roadway, you've seen crews working on trees and other utilities.
- HOW DOES THAT IMPACT MMA?
Our sign has to be moved back because it would be in the new right of way. There will also be a turning lane headed East on 228 onto Lardintown Road that will provide better access to enter the Makowski's Martial Arts & Fitness LLC Training Facility.
- WHAT"S NEXT?
We'll be installing a temporary sign and then reinstalling the sign as shown in the picture; just moved back into the property a little farther. We understand that utilities, e.g., gas lines, telephone poles, water drainage pipes, etc. will be the work done through the end of 2026. Roadwork is planned to commence in the Spring of 2027.

Mr. Magill joined us for testing this week between graduating from U.S. Air Force Tech School and heading to his next assignment. The red rope on his shoulder designates him as a “Leader of Leaders.” Earning a red rope is relatively rare. Only a very small percentage of the total USAF Airman population earns that leadership recognition. Mr. Magill credits his martial arts training with us for his being prepared for over 90 percent of the physical and mental challenges he has been required to do in his military training. His discipline and black belt attitude, behavior, and ability are keys to his being chosen to wear the red rope as “Leader of leaders”.
