This week in the HS Ag Department AFNR has been learning about our natural resources and wildlife.

Our greenhouse class propagated Christmas cactus from a generous donor.

Our Mechanical Principles class started showcasing their skills through a woodworking project.

Ag business crew has been planning their upcoming micro-business.

Lastly, our Plant Science class been learning about soybeans. From the basics of the commodity to calculating 1/1000th of an acre, estimating yield, and grading soybeans we have had a week of hands on opportunities!

Ag Day: Learning, Leading & Growing in Agriculture! 🌾🐄

Ag Day is where hands-on learning meets a whole lot of fun! Second grade students from RES & SES explored the many sides of agriculture while building knowledge and skills that promote safe, responsible agricultural practices. 🚜

From getting up close with animals at our livestock petting zoo 🐐🐑 to learning about animal identification, tool selection, and equipment safety, there was something for everyone!

Students also discovered how precision agriculture is shaping the future of farming, learn about the importance of pollinators 🐝🌻, and developed valuable leadership skills along the way.

And, of course, Ag Day wouldn’t be complete without some creativity and fun—including face painting 🎨 and our famous “Cow Train”! 🐄🚂

🌱 Learn it. Live it. Lead it. Stay safe. We’re excited to celebrate agriculture and inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders!

Special thank you to EHS art club, EHS cafeteria staff, transportation, SES staff & admin, RES staff & admin, EMS FFA members, and the EBFFA Alumni for stepping up and helping with our large day. Without cooperation and commitment from all parties, this wouldn’t have been possible!
