What does it mean to Ignite the Next?

During his commencement address to the West Valley College Class of 2026, Bryan Terrell Clark challenged graduates to think beyond titles, achievements, and expectations. In a world filled with uncertainty, he reminded us that ignition is not imitation. Ignition creates movement. Ignition creates energy. Ignition creates possibility.

His message was simple but powerful: the future isn't shaped by people waiting for permission or trying to become someone else. It's shaped by people willing to lead with integrity, courage, compassion, and authenticity.

If you missed Bryan's inspiring keynote, or would like to experience it again, we invite you to watch the full address at https://youtu.be/mFvYXVXj5I4

The West Valley-Mission Foundation continues to champion the power of education, awarding more than one million dollars in scholarships this year to students who demonstrate excellence, leadership, impact and need.

As we continue to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026, we’re especially grateful to the donors and community members who continue to invest in our students and believe in their potential.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🎓

During his keynote address, Bryan Terrell Clark reminded graduates that “the future is not waiting for you to become someone else. It is asking for you to become more fully yourself.”

As you leave West Valley College and step into what’s next, we hope you carry that with you. Build boldly. Lead with compassion. Create the kind of future only you can.

Vikings, we are so proud of you, and we can’t wait to see how you ignite the next chapter of your lives.

30,000 meals packed. One incredible day of service.

Throughout Saturday, hundreds of volunteers filled the West Valley College gymnasium with energetic teamwork and compassion as we partnered with the Rotary International Club of Saratoga and Rise Against Hunger to help fight global hunger.

From students and employees to community members and many of our Viking athletics teams, the collective effort behind this year’s Epic Day of Service was genuinely inspiring.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, packed meals, cheered each other on, and helped make a real impact far beyond our campus.
