Sana's Arangetram yesterday July 18th 2026 - brilliant and sublime leaving us all feeling blissful and energized!! What a beautiful journey it has been from a 5yr old Sana joining classes over 10 years ago, a young bubble of joy who would just come to class for fun who transformed into this passionate, focussed, disciplined student honing her skills every day to perfection, especially in the last few months!
The event yesterday was a great success with so many Congratulatory messages pouring in! Sana actualized her full potential for the Arangetram with a lot of hard work and discipline and kudos to all her efforts and the strong support of her parents throughout!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yesterdays performance had so many intricate pieces - a full fledged 3 hour recital with 8 margam format items, each one that she rendered with such energy, and expression, leaving us with so many goosebump moments!πŸ₯°

Deeply thankful for God's blessings without which all this would not have come together. We had a brilliant orchestra team with Chandrika Pai, Santhosh Ravindrabharathy Vikram Raghukumar Ashwin Krishnakumar Hrishikesh Chary that brought these moments alive with their melodious magic! The melodious and heartfelt singing, along with the great sync between the violin, veena and flute supported by the strong percussion support took us all into blissful moments of experiencing the joy of Sana's energetic and vibrant performance!
Was wonderful to have Vani ji come and speak - her appreciation of Sana's technique, training and expressive abilities was hearfelt and a proud moment for all of us!

We had some brilliant lighting set up by Naveen Nathan that made the audience experience even more heightened!

A big thank you to Madhusudan Pai for the brilliant pictures from photoshoot as well as the event day as well - he always manages to capture some of the best moments while the dancer is in motion - check out some of the pix below!
Without the help of all our crew - Makep by Ramya Sridharan, Videography by Raju and Sachin Pattanshetty, MCing and other backstage support by a few of our dancers/families- Sujana, Akhshaya, Manogna, Easha, Aadhya, Arya, Navya, Ahana, Bharati, Anuradha, Priya, Shefali, and others - this would not have been such a huge success!! Finally a heartfelt thank you to all my Gurus starting with my mother and all those I have learnt so much from - Shanmuga Sundar, Padmaja Venkatesh Ramachandran Muralidaran - this would not be possible!

Now on to the next Arangetram on Aug 2nd!!

Our upcoming summer event series includes a maargam presentation by 3 of our post-Arangetram students - Sujanaa, Akhshaya and Manogna - who are all studying to be doctors and researchers now. All 3 of them completed their Arangetrams in 2018/2019 after years of training at Sarvaguna School of Bharatanatyam. We are excited to have them present this beautiful and intricate maargam presentation together on August 15th 2026. We are also looking forward to two beautiful arangetrams by Sana on July 18th and Easha on Aug 2nd both of whom have been learning with me for over 10 years now and are currently in high school. Please hold the dates on your calendar to come enjoy this beautiful journey of their artistic expression- the result of many years of training, hard work, passion and discipline and bless them! Beautiful pic courtesy Madhu Pai Photography!

Happy Saraswati Puja to all on this auspicious Panchami tithi!
As a child, I remember collecting small Parijata flowers early morning to offer for Saraswati puja. I was thinking I should get this plant for my garden today and was searching for it when I came across some interesting notes.

"Parijat is also widely known as Harsingar or the ornament of the Gods in India. Thus, it's the only one that can be offered to Gods after picking it up from the ground. The flower is said to help one remember one's past lives and incarnations."

"Parijat, the flower said to have descended from heaven itself. Legend says it bloomed from the ashes of a heartbroken princess, and now graces winter nights with its divine fragrance. πŸŒ™ It blooms in the dark, falls before sunrise symbolizing purity, devotion, and detachment."

Here's a nice story related to this beautiful night-flowering plant that we used to offer for Saraswati Puja day as well.

What a remarkable journey it has been, encompassing 25 student arangetrams! This year, we also undertake a mission to witness glimpses from various phases of this artistic evolution over the years!
Here is a short glimpse from Sumana's brilliant Arangetram in August 2024. I thoroughly relished rendering this intricate jati for Sumana - seeing her evolve from a 6 year old young child to a teenage sophomore Arangetram presenter has been so soul-satisfying indeed!
Kudos to all our accompanying artistes with melodious Ranjani Ravindrabharathy on vocals, brilliant Santhosh Ravindrabharathy on mrudangam, wonderful Aravind on the violin and mellifluous Tejasvi Chakravarthy on the flute.
