I am trying to find out if I have enough interest for people to start in January. My husband is having surgery this week and will be in his bed until late October early November. I love teaching and would love to teach but I can't start up until my husband is back on his feet.

Common Questions and answers!

*What curriculum is taught?

*A list of things I teach All the letters and sounds. Basic reading skills. So far all the kids I taught have been reading before kindergarten. Seasons, months days. Holidays, we focus on numbers 1-10 strongly with simple math skills using those numbers but go over numbers through 31.
We do colors, shapes, rhymes, patterns, size distinguishing, quantities.
We work on fine and gross motor skills, writing, coloring, cutting, problem solving. We work on social and emotional development, sharing, self confidence, being able to transition and handle change.

We work on communication skills verbal and nonverbal.
We work on literacy skills. How a book works. Where is the cover the back, how you read left to right. How letters each make a sound and when put together they form a word. When you put words together it makes a scentance. Then you can put thoses togther to make a whole message or story. Who an author is and who an illustrator. We work on the 12 basic sight words.

Like I said before we work through all the steps of reading at what ever pace the individual child is at.
We do craft projects, and try to involve many senses into learning. We strive to make learning fun but not just a playdate. So we use a lot of manipulatives. To learn in a fun way. We do circle time with stories and songs.
We do a lot of crafts and arts.

The themes I cover are monsters, back to school, Apples, transportation, numbers, fall, pumpkins, Halloween, community helpers, baking, Thanksgiving and turkeys, Gingerbread shapes, Christmas, snowmen, polar animals, 5 senses, Valentine's day, dental health, dinosaurs, rainbows, bugs, Weather, farm, earth, Easter, Spring, zoo, and construction.
