Hey guys sorry our social media manager is really busy right now so we just thought we’d post some reminders for the turtles.
Basically like go slow on your boat and watch for sea turtles cuz they’re hard to spot. Ask a friend to help look for them and maybe wear some polarized sunglasses to help you see.
Anyways the turtles said they hope you’ll go slow for those below 👍🏻

Florida’s waters are home to five species of sea turtles, and they’re all facing the same threat: accidental boat strikes.
A recent study found that 1 in 4 sea turtles found dead or injured in Florida was hit by a boat; most of those hit (98%) don’t survive.
Luckily, Florida boaters like you care deeply about the wildlife that call this state home. By
🗺️ Identifying your local voluntary sea turtle protection zone (STPZ),
🛥️ Going as slow as safely possible in nearshore waters and STPZs,
🔍 Assigning a wildlife spotter, and
🕶️ Wearing polarized sunglasses,
You have more time to react and avoid an accidental collision when you see a sea turtle.
Together, we can protect Florida’s sea turtles and preserve our state’s pristine ecosystems and biodiversity for generations to come 🐢
