These are a work in progress. We've been adding the assessments for high school but we are looking for feedback on them after they have been used with your students. What would you like to see changed or added?

Teachers, what if I told you that word walls don't have to be static displays collecting dust? ๐ฏ Turn your word wall into an interactive learning station where students physically move words around to create sentences, sort by categories, or build word families. Add velcro dots or magnetic strips to make words moveable and watch engagement soar. Students can work in pairs during transitions or early finisher time to manipulate the words in meaningful ways. The best part? You're building vocabulary, sentence structure, and critical thinking skills all at once without adding extra prep to your already full plate. Who else is ready to give their word wall a makeover? ๐

Teaching English learners? Here's a game-changer: Instead of correcting every grammar mistake, try focused feedback on just ONE error pattern per assignment. Your students will feel less overwhelmed, actually remember the correction, and gain confidence to keep writing. Pick the mistake that interferes most with meaning and tackle that first. Save the rest for later. Quality feedback beats quantity every time ๐ What error pattern do you focus on first with your ELs?

Teaching multilingual learners isn't about lowering expectationsโit's about providing the right scaffolds so students can meet high standards. When we differentiate instruction, we're not making the work easier, we're making access to rigorous content possible. Strong scaffolding + high expectations = student success. What's your go-to scaffolding strategy that helps your English learners shine? ๐

Just discovered something game-changing: my English learners retain vocabulary SO much better when they create their own personal word banks with drawings, native language connections, and example sentences that matter to THEM. ๐ Stop giving students pre-made vocabulary lists and start letting them build their own meaning. The ownership they feel over words they've personally wrestled with and defined in their own way is incredibly powerful. Who else has tried student-created word banks? What's been your experience with vocabulary retention when students take the lead?

Teaching English learners? Here's a game-changer: Instead of correcting every error, try focused feedback on just ONE language pattern per assignment. When students aren't overwhelmed by red marks everywhere, they actually retain corrections better and build confidence faster. Pick your battles strategically - maybe it's past tense this week, articles next week - and watch their accuracy improve without the anxiety. ๐ What language pattern are you focusing on with your ELs this month?
