Our mission is to help our families Go Beyond with inclusion and acceptance! 🐝 At Beyond the Spectrum, our mission will always revolve around serving families in our community affected by Autism and other related diagnoses. We serve children ages 4-22 with autism and related abilities in Manatee, Sarasota, and surrounding counties.

When you see a finished classroom project from Beyond the Spectrum, you're looking at the end of a much bigger process. Long before the last piece is glued or colored, our learners are practicing skills that carry into daily life! 🥳

Hands-on activities like cooking, sorting, or a group craft can support communication, fine-motor development, turn-taking, following directions, and self-advocacy, all at once. One learner might be working on asking for help, while another practices waiting patiently for a turn. What ends up on the wall is really a record of that quiet, individualized work. 🫶

We got to practice meaningful life and fine motor skills with Ms. Autumn's class today! Making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches together expanded our students' palates and showed them how to prepare their own foods. 🍞 Being able to eat the results of their hard work didn't hurt either! 😋
