Is your child turning ONE?
At Wooden Shoes Childcare Center, our one-year-old classroom provides a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where toddlers can explore, play, and learn at their own pace.
Through age-appropriate activities, music, movement, sensory play, and daily routines, we help children develop their language, motor, social, and emotional skills—all while receiving the individual attention and affection they need during this important stage.
Nutritious meals are included and carefully planned by nutrition professional.
****Enrollment is now OPEN for children ages 12 months and older****
Spaces are limited—contact us today to schedule a tour!

The biggest growth in VPK doesn’t always come home in a backpack.
Sometimes it looks like raising a hand to share an idea. Using words to explain what’s wrong. Waiting for a turn with the blue crayon. Offering a toy to a new friend. Or proudly showing off something they completed all by themselves!
These moments may look small, but they help children build patience, work through emotions, follow classroom routines, develop social skills, and grow in confidence.
So when kindergarten begins, they can walk through the door ready to learn.

Update: This workshop is now sold out!
Not to be dramatic, but your tiny chef needs this on their calendar. 👩🍳✨
Cooking Counts is coming to Sarasota! We’re hosting this free WEDU PBS workshop in partnership with Florida Blue, and it’s all about helping children ages 3–6 explore early math through pretend cooking and playful activities.
We’re talking scooping, sorting, counting, measuring, and big “I did it!” energy.
Space is limited, registration is required, and we have a feeling these spots won’t simmer for long.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Alison Fraga, the new CEO of the Early Learning Coalition Of Sarasota County, for taking the time to visit our preschool.
We truly appreciated her sincere interest in learning more about our program, our children, our families, and the work we do every day. Her openness, transparency, kindness, and genuine willingness to collaborate meant a great deal to our team.
Visits like this remind us of the importance of building strong partnerships within our early learning community, always with the shared goal of supporting children and families in the best possible way.
Thank you, Alison, for your thoughtful words and for your commitment to early childhood education in Sarasota!
