We love creating opportunities for children and families to discover that magic together, whether through stories, art, movement, or creative play. So today, find a favorite, pick something new, and spend a little time getting lost in a story.

Thank you to Ian Swaby and the Sarasota-Siesta Key Your Observer for capturing the creativity and joy of our first Imagination Installation! We loved celebrating the start of a new school year by bringing children and families together through the power of visual art, music, and movement.

Back in January, Dr. Lenora Zenzalai Helm brought the power of jazz, voice, and connection to Sarasota through our Artist in Residence program. 🎶

Across free performances, workshops, and community conversations, students, educators, and audiences were invited to listen, create, participate, and experience music in new ways.

Her residency was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when extraordinary artistry is made accessible to everyone and the arts become a space for learning, expression, and community.

Our hearts are still so full from this past weekend. 💛🎨

Thank you to every family who joined us for our very first Imagination Installation: A Family Celebration of Arts and Learning! More than 100 attendees filled the morning with creativity, curiosity, laughter, movement, and joy.

From making art and dancing together to picking out books, exploring something new, and heading home with supplies to keep the creativity going, it was incredibly special to see families learning, creating, and connecting through the arts.

To everyone who spent their Saturday morning with us: thank you for showing up, jumping in, and making this first Imagination Installation more wonderful than we could have imagined.

And a special thank you to Harvest House for welcoming us into your space and helping make this joyful morning possible.

We hope you had as much fun as we did.

A little Gala planning is officially underway! ✨

Last week, we visited the The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort our wonderful event planner, Gillian from Events of A Lifetime Productions to tour the beautiful spaces and start dreaming up what’s in store for our 2027 Gala this March.

There’s nothing better than getting out into the community and connecting with the people who make Sarasota such a special place. 💜

We had a great time at the Greater Sarasota Chamber Grand Expo yesterday, sharing more about the Foundation, meeting new friends, and catching up with so many familiar faces.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, learn more about our work, and talk with us about the power of the arts in our community. We loved every conversation!

Our first ArtSELF Arts for Wellness Workshop of the season is in the books! 🎶

Earlier this month, Teaching Artist María Albán led our first Music for Healing workshop at The Ringling, where participants explored the connection between sound and wellness through instruments, guided singing, vocal toning, and traditions from around the world.

Missed it? You have another chance to experience Music for Healing! Join María at The Ringling on Tuesday, September 8, from 5:30–7 PM and discover how sound and vibration can help calm the nervous system, restore balance, and support overall well-being.
