Can we normalize making our health a priority this Summer? ☀️💛
Let's normalize...
🌿 Ordering the grilled fish and vegetables while everyone else orders burgers and fries.
🍓 Passing on the giant slice of cake because you know your body simply feels better without it.
😴 Heading home just a little earlier so you can get the sleep your body needs- even if everyone else stays out late.
🚶♀️ Taking an early morning walk or putting your feet in the earth before the day gets busy.
🛁 Making time for a relaxing bath or sauna after a full weekend.
💧 Carrying your water bottle everywhere.
🙏 Saying "no" when your body needs rest instead of saying "yes" out of guilt.
Summer often brings vacations, BBQs, celebrations, and spontaneous plans - and I absolutely believe we should enjoy them and be flexible with our eating and lifestyle habits.
However, enjoying summer doesn't have to mean completely abandoning the habits that help you feel your best.
After more than 30 years as a functional and integrative dietitian, I've learned to finally protect my own health instead of pleasing others.
ALSO, I have observed that the healthiest people aren't the ones with the most willpower....
..they're the ones who have stopped apologizing for honoring what their body needs and are consistent (not perfect!)
Because here's the truth...
Your body is intelligently designed for health and healing.
Our role isn't to force healing - it is to create the internal conditions that allow us to feel our best!
Every nourishing meal. Every good night's sleep. Every walk. Every deep breath. Every moment of rest. Every healthy boundary....it adds up!
These aren't acts of restriction.
They're acts of self-respect, self- love, and a commitment to yourself!
So this summer...
✨ Order the healthy meal.
✨ Go to bed on time.
✨ Take the walk.
✨ Protect your peace.
✨ Care for your body without guilt.
Because feeling your best isn't something you should ever have to apologize for!
What healthy habit are you choosing to protect this summer?
I'd love to hear in the comments. 💛
Cheering you on this Summer to be the healthiest and happiest version of YOU! With LOVE, Julie
