From Lebanon to Sarasota, we’re excited to welcome Ali Chokr to ACE! After a successful 48-year career in the jewelry industry, raising a family, and building a life in Sarasota, Ali is now sharing a passion he has carried throughout his life: the Arabic language and the rich cultural heritage of the Middle East. Ali first began teaching Arabic to his own children and local students in Sarasota in the 1980s. Today, he brings decades of experience, world travel, and a genuine love of teaching to ACE. In addition to vocabulary and conversation, Ali’s classes will provide a window into the traditions, history, and culture behind the language.

Meet our newest Spanish instructor, Patricia Rueda. A native Spanish speaker from Bogotá, Colombia, Patricia brings more than 30 years of teaching experience and a genuine love of helping adults feel comfortable speaking a new language. With a bachelor's degree in Languages (Spanish and English) and experience teaching both languages to students of all ages, Patricia believes that learning a language is more than vocabulary; it’s also about connecting with people, cultures, and new experiences. Her welcoming, interactive classes will help students build confidence while developing practical conversation skills and a deeper appreciation for Hispanic cultures.

¡Hola, ACE community - We’re excited to introduce María Mascareñas! María is a certified, native Spanish instructor born in Cuba and raised in Florida. She believes learning a new language should be fun, interactive, and confidence-building and will bring this approach to her ACE students through games, music, role-playing, and a special technique that will have everyone rolling their R's in no time!
