WEDNESDAY WOW - What a year! We are so honored to have been a part of these students' story. They have worked hard and grown so much. One of the most common phrases you will hear at Star Lab is, "I mastered a new skill!" Our students love our mastery learning curriculum and how clearly it illuminates their progress.

We are spending our final week with a celebration of childhood. Yesterday we took a "playground tour" - hanging out at The Bay, Selby Library, and the Circus Playground (aka Payne Park). Today you'll find us on the indoor slides at Kids Empire!

Congratulations to the kindergarten class of 2026! We are so proud of you!!!

At Star Lab we work to be responsive to our individual students and this group challenged us in a great way - they love to learn! They rocketed through kindergarten skills and started working on first grade, just as eagerly. What can we say - we can’t help it if we attract stars! 🤩

WEDNESDAY WOW - We were thrilled with our behind-the-scenes tour of the Sarasota airport! We got to see passengers loading at the new Allegiant terminal, we saw a plane landing and being directed into its parking place (IT WAS LOUD!), and we met an incredibly kind Delta pilot who gave us special airplane trading cards!

We are in the final days of the 25-26 school year, and learning is still going strong!

SUPERSTAR SUNDAY - Our amazing high school volunteers!!! Congratulations to all the graduating seniors - Gianna, Taylor, Rihaunna, Acacia, Sankalp, Alex, and Peter! You have elevated our community events with your energy and talents - from running Star Quest, to manicure parties, to bounce houses, to launching kids down the snow slide, to serving sushi and empanadas at our International Food Festival. You are destined for greatness and we will always remember you!

And to Riya and Jack, rising seniors, we are so thankful to you for picking up the torch! We're looking forward to another great year.

What an INCREDIBLE privilege to meet the one and only Pat and Nancy, founders of the AIM Academy and the Institute for Learning & Research. Twenty years ago they started a school to effectively teach children with dyslexia how to read, and they have walked hand in hand with the most elite researchers in academia to deliver on their promise.

Today they not only have the K-12 school in Pennsylvania, they have an amazing online academy to support teacher knowledge across the country and the courses are outstanding. Pat and Nancy's generosity in meeting with us and supporting Star Lab's own journey is inspiring - we are honored to be in the same community!

Reading teachers - We HIGHLY recommend attending their annual symposium next March - this year presenters included Ken Pugh, Mark Seidenberg, HOLLIS SCARBOROUGH (sorry, got excited), Elsa Cardenez-Hagan, and Linnea Ehri!

Every day is AWESOME! We just love these kids and how we are making each other's dreams come true!

Star Lab is ready to hit the road in our newly branded learning mobile - tomorrow we get to go to the airport for a behind-the-scenes tour!

WEDNESDAY WOW - We had such a special Mother's Day Tea! Ms. Natalia, aka Chef Natalia, and the students spent the day making homemade bread. So much learning happens in the kitchen - there were hands-on opportunities to apply math, science, and vocabulary. The moms loved it, and the school smelled SO GOOD!

Making bread has been a part of human society for millennia - Star Lab students are picking up the torch!
