Join us this Friday, April 24 for a Best of Ringling watch party hosted by Entertainment Design in the AC auditorium. Open to all majors, we will be gathering together to watch the live stream of our amazing Best of Ringling winners!

EDES majors: we will be meeting at 5 pm in the AC Auditorium prior to the live stream for our annual Entertainment Design awards ceremony.

Check out our first-year students’ Storefront Redesign projects ☀️

In their second semester, students dive into one of the many tools we learn throughout the program - SketchUp - to bring their ideas to life in 3D.
Each student selects an existing location ready for a refresh and reimagines it with a brand-new storefront design, using SketchUp and Enscape to fully visualize their concepts.

This past week we had the amazing Jason Surrell, former show writer for Walt Disney Imagineering, visit us on campus!
Jason spent time with our sophomores reviewing their off-the-shelf ride concepts and offering thoughtful feedback, while also meeting with our seniors to discuss their thesis projects.
On Wednesday night, Jason spoke at about the history of the creation of The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland. Our students were completely captivated, eager to learn more about the story behind such an iconic attraction.

Thank you so much, Jason, for sharing your time, insight, and encouragement with our students. We always love your visits and look forward to seeing you again soon!

GENESIS 2026🪡

Congratulations to everyone involved in this amazing event! Our students contributed to so many aspects of this production, including set design, fabrication, lighting, sound, stage management, and more.

This event is such a valuable experience, giving students the opportunity to be part of a larger collaborative project and see their designs realized in a physical built environment. There is nothing quite like the feeling of watching guests experience something you helped create.

Congratulations again to all involved. We’re already looking forward to next year! 🏹

This Saturday is the 2026 GENESIS fashion show!

Follow the soul’s journey under the watchful eyes of The Fates. Divided into three distinct acts - Life, Battle, and The Unknown - we witness the tapestry of existence unfold, one thread at a time.

So many of our students in the EDES department and beyond have been tirelessly working to design, construct and create this amazing event for you! Congrats to our students for being in the home stretch.

Before heading out for the week, our sophomores wrapped up their Themed Restaurant projects! Students created an original restaurant concept, developing the story, characters, and theme. Then they brought it to life through floor plans, FF&E, concept sketches, and final renders.

This past weekend was Avant Garde here at Ringling College!
Earlier this fall, selected students had the opportunity to help design the event from blue-sky ideation through early concept development (with the fabulous Debra Wren of ) playing a role in bringing this incredible experience to life!
