Percy's Friends, Inc offers unique access for children to be able to read to service dogs! Interacting with dogs has proven health benefits including lowering blood pressure and improving mood. This experience will build confidence, help maintain reading levels, and keep kids coming back for more!

Percy's Friends provides services to children ages twelve (12) and under who are at-risk to become or who are below proficient reading level, as well as their families.

46% of 6th grade students in Sarasota County did not pass the FSA last year. Percy’s Friends, Inc. has a mission to provide local support with a three-pronged approach.
1. Effectively connect families with a variety of outside resources as needed.
2. Provide access to inspiring, reading-level appropriate books at home.
3. Offer evidence-based reading and comprehension tutoring and interactions with trained service dogs.
