This past weekend was the Sarasota County Florida Bridge Designer Competition sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Students in this competition are tasked with using a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) program to design multiple custom working bridges with the lowest total cost.  McIntosh Middle had two students qualify for and attend the finals at North Port High School on Saturday morning. I am very proud to say both students did very well and scored a podium finish!
 
Ivee Boatwright secured a 3rd place finish along with a cool $150 in prize money!
 
Colin Corbett won 1st place in the competition!  (McIntosh Middle)
