I am desperately searching for ways to cope, so I am going to share this:

The ONLY time our son was sad was when we would tell him,"Mommy and Daddy will be right back." Even when he couldn't walk due to his knee, he still made sure we were never sad. When I cried, he would try to make me laugh in an unbelievably human way. He actually smiled like a toddler in a toy shop. When I would have nightmares, he would climb onto my chest and push his head under my chin. He would start to "talk" to me in his little Yorkie language. Loki was immune to sadness. Loki recognized my depression but he refused to allow me to dwell in feelings such as hopelessness. He anticipated every mood I experienced and guided me through the abyss of my struggles. This is why he was named after a God. We are without.....
