Asolo Rep Education & Engagement is back at the Sarasota Art Museum for Free Second Sundays!

Join us every second Sunday of the month from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM for a free acting class with Asolo Rep. Designed for elementary-aged children, this 45-minute class will inspire imagination, boost confidence, and lay the foundation for a lifelong love of the arts.

Yesterday’s performance of The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition was Asolo Rep’s very first Relaxed Performance!

Designed to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment, this performance allowed everyone to enjoy live theatre comfortably. We are deeply grateful to the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) at USF for their invaluable support in helping us create a sensory-friendly experience. We were also thrilled to welcome members of the Loveland Center to the audience!

We look forward to hosting future Relaxed Performances and continuing to find new ways to make the Asolo more accessible to all.

We had so much fun last week with the Middle School Theatre Intensive, we thought we’d better do it again, but this time with our High School Acting and Costume Design Intensives! Week two of intensives is officially a go! Happy first day to our students!

A Relaxed Performance is designed to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where everyone can enjoy live theatre comfortably. During a Relaxed Performance, house lights remain slightly dimmed, audience movement and sound are welcome, and quiet spaces will be available in the lobby!

Today marks the start of our summer intensives! First up is our Middle School Theatre Intensive led by Morgan Egan. We can't wait to see what all our students learn by the end of the week!
