PINNED UNTIL NOVEMBER.

Sarasota voters deserve to know exactly who is running, what they represent and how failed Republican leadership created this choice. We will continue examining the records, presenting the facts and showing the receipts through Election Day.

The Sarasota County Primary produced winners and losers on the ballot, but it also exposed a much deeper problem inside the Republican Party.

Let us be very clear: the Sarasota County Republican Party has repeatedly failed to deliver victory in School Board races.

Look at 2024. Karen Rose had the endorsement of Governor Ron DeSantis and still lost. Even more troubling, Jack Brill had polling numbers eight weeks before the primary showing that Karen was headed toward defeat. He knew the campaign was in trouble.

He did nothing.

In 2022, conservative candidates succeeded because their supporters refused to surrender to political insiders. They ignored demands to withdraw support from Robyn Marinelli and built the ZEM campaign into one of the most effective conservative school board campaigns in the country.

But behind the scenes, Jack Brill repeatedly tried to shut it down.

Now look at 2026.

With all 98 precincts reporting, 109,395 Sarasota County voters cast ballots. Republicans represented more than 53% of countywide turnout.

Yet Jimmy Glover, the Democratic Party-endorsed candidate, finished first in the countywide School Board District 1 race with nearly 44% of the vote.

Despite Republicans casting a majority of the ballots, a veteran, licensed mental health therapist and small-business owner finished third. Republican apathy, a fractured conservative vote and the complete failure of local party leadership helped produce this result.

Jack Brill and Alice Rothbauer failed Republican voters. More importantly, they failed Sarasota County’s children.

Under their weak and feckless leadership, the Sarasota Republican Party has become consumed by favoritism, backroom alliances, and personal vendettas instead of turning out voters, defending conservative principles, and supporting qualified candidates.

Their conduct appears far more aligned with liberal socialist values than with the conservative principles they claim to represent.

The current conservative members of the Sarasota County School Board also remained noticeably quiet.

Were they more concerned about protecting their higher political aspirations than defending the future of the board, Sarasota County’s children and the conservative voters who helped elect them?

Leadership requires courage when it matters. It does not mean remaining silent because speaking out might complicate your next campaign.

The problem is not “Republican infighting.” That is the excuse weak leaders use whenever grassroots Republicans begin questioning their decisions.

The real problem is an establishment filled with minions and political varmints who would rather support a woman facing two active defamation cases and questions surrounding her reported involvement with two sexting apps than support a veteran and licensed mental health therapist who stepped forward to serve her community.

That choice tells Republican voters everything they need to know.

This was never about unity. It was about protecting a political club.

Their version of “unity” means remaining silent, obeying leadership and never questioning who benefits from their decisions. Real unity must be built around principles, transparency, competent leadership and respect for Republican voters.

Unity cannot be demanded by failed leaders who refuse to accept responsibility for terrible voter engagement, disastrous political judgment and yet another preventable loss.

The Sarasota Republican Party does not have an infighting problem.

It has a LEADERSHIP problem.

Jack Brill should understand this clearly: this is only the beginning of the political accountability.

The questions will continue. The records will be examined. The receipts will be shown. Republican voters deserve the truth about what has happened to their party, what occurred behind the scenes, and who is responsible.

WHICH VANESSA BAUGH SHOULD REPUBLICANS BELIEVE?

Vanessa Baugh just gave Sarasota voters a perfect example of everything that is wrong with the Republican Party.

She wants you to believe this election is about stopping “radical Democrat Socialists” and maintaining “sane Republican leadership.” She tells Republicans who the supposed enemies are and demands they fall in line.

While publicly warning Republicans about Democrats, Baugh’s own political circle seems perfectly comfortable getting cozy with the very people they tell you to fear. Just days ago, Traci Lipton was publicly posting about being “ ” with Baugh while the two posed together smiling.

So which Vanessa Baugh are voters supposed to believe?

The one screaming that Democrats are coming for our schools?

Or the one whose political allies can laugh, hug, and play “frenemies” when it suits them?

This is the Republican establishment playbook people are sick of: divide voters, question everyone else’s Republican credentials, demand loyalty, and then operate by an entirely different set of rules behind the scenes.

Vanessa Baugh doesn’t get to lecture Sarasota Republicans about loyalty while playing both sides of the political fence.

Stop telling voters who to fear. Stop treating Republicans like they are stupid. And stop pretending this is about principle when the political relationships tell a very different story.

The screenshots speak for themselves.

BREAKING: SARASOTA SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATE HEIDI BRANDT’S PAST RAISES NEW QUESTIONS — A SECOND “PLEASURE TEXTING” TRADEMARK SURFACES

Jack Brill-endorsed District 1 Sarasota County School Board candidate Heidi Brandt is asking voters to evaluate her record and qualifications. Now there is another piece of the public record voters should examine.

Pleasure Texting LLC didn't have just one federal trademark.

It had TWO separate trademark filings.

“PLEASURE TEXTING.”

And filed the very same day:

“ENHANCE YOUR TEXT LIFE.”

“Enhance Your Text Life” was a separate federally registered trademark and marketing slogan owned by Pleasure Texting LLC for its mobile communications software. The associated Pleasure Texting app was marketed as a way for users to share intimate fantasies through text messages using “sensual images.” “ENHANCE YOUR TEXT LIFE” — Pleasure Texting LLC’s federally registered slogan for its adult-oriented mobile texting application.

Meanwhile, Brandt's July 2026 candidate questionnaire lists her occupation as “school volunteer.” Her public candidate materials emphasize her experience as a parent, PTO leader, Sunday school teacher, and school volunteer. It appears she forgot to mention her experience with Pleasure Texting LLC and Enhance Your Text Life.

District 1 voters have three candidates to evaluate.

- Heidi Brandt has the endorsement of Jack Brill
- Jimmy Glover is endorsed by the Democratic Party and by extremely progressive organizations like Equality Florida
- Teresa DeWitt has been endorsed by Congressman Greg Steube, Sheriff Kurt Hoffman, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

The Sarasota County School Board election is on August 18. Vote for common sense!

Plot thickens, folks.

Why did Jack Brill go and endorse some woman who used to be a managed member of a sexting app and is now stuck in two active defamation suits, instead of the licensed mental health therapist who’s a veteran and experienced advocate? That one already has the backing of Congressman Greg Steube and Sarasota Sheriff Hoffman.

And get this, controversial Former Manatee County Commissioner Vanessa Baugh is now a member of the Sarasota Republican Party, and she’s heading up a committee that was part of the endorsement process.

Makes you wonder if they pushed the weaker candidate on purpose so their Democrat friends could win.

Whole thing just smells like sabotage.

Don’t worry, folks. We’ll keep connecting the dots between these local “republicans” and the Democrats.

Jack Brill’s history of undermining Republican unity goes back years. Traci Williams called out his lack of Trump support in 2023. But voters don’t need to look back. Right now, as Republican Party chairman, he’s refusing to support school board candidate Teresa DeWitt who is endorsed by Congressman Greg Steube and Sarasota Sheriff Kurt Hoffman.

The pattern is clear. The Republican Party chairman is actively working against Republicans.

THE PRINCE OF DARK MONEY SHALL LIVE ON.

Before “Mr. Dark Money” delivers his usual spiel, Sarasota voters deserve one important clarification: Eric Robinson is not merely the treasurer of the political committee funding ads against Sarasota County School Board Candidate Teresa DeWitt. He is both its chairman and treasurer. Receipts are in the comments.

Robinson’s accounting firm prepared the tax return for Star Lab, where Democratic Party-endorsed Jimmy Glover serves as board president. Robinson simultaneously chairs and manages the finances of the political committee paying for ads attacking Teresa.

WHAT DOES SARASOTA’S POLITICAL ESTABLISHMENT FEAR ABOUT TERESA DEWITT?

Then there is Pleasure Texting LLC managing member, Heidi Brandt. Her campaign and Robinson’s committee hired the same political vendor located nearly 185 miles away in Gainesville just days apart.

One connection might be dismissed as coincidence. Multiple overlapping relationships form a pattern.

Congressman Greg Steube and Sheriff Kurt Hoffman independently examined the candidates and endorsed Teresa DeWitt. Yet the RNC chairman’s business partner is helping finance attacks against their choice while remaining professionally connected to an organization led by the Democrat-endorsed candidate. This is starting to feel sloppy. Not what we expect out of the Prince of Dark Money.

Why are Sarasota’s political insiders seemingly more threatened by Teresa than by the Democratic Party’s endorsed candidate?

Perhaps it is because Teresa DeWitt was never supposed to disrupt their carefully managed election.

Please spare everyone the lies and predictable denials you are preparing to leave in the comments. We did not invent these connections. We simply followed your money and the trail led directly back to you.

Leadership means speaking up, especially when the future of our schools is at stake.

Bridget Ziegler, Robyn Marinelli, and Karen Rose are leaving open seats on the Sarasota County School Board, yet none has publicly endorsed a candidate to continue the work they claim to support.

Their Democratic counterparts have made their choices clear. Why haven’t these three board members done the same?

Sarasota County families deserve to know where they stand.
