📸 MAKE-UP PICTURE DAY and 8th Grade Group Panoramic 📸

👉 Were you absent on Picture Day (September 4th)? Don’t miss your chance to have your picture taken on Make-Up day!!

🗓️ Date: Friday, October 16th
⏰ Time: First thing in the morning (photographer will only be here about an hour)

👉 If you don’t have your picture made, you will not be featured in the yearbook.

👕 Dress Code:
-School uniform required
-No spirit wear, jerseys, jackets, or sweatshirts

🚨🚨ALL 8th grade students MUST wear their white polos on Friday, October 16th for the GROUP panoramic picture.

Congratulations to Kenley Wilson on being named Optimist Runner of the Week for her outstanding performance at the PRVille Twilight Meet in Huntsville, Alabama on September 26th!

What makes this recognition even more impressive? Kenley is just an 8th grader at Saraland Middle School, competing at the HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY LEVEL! 🔥

Running alongside high school athletes is an accomplishment in itself, but earning this kind of recognition as a middle schooler is something truly special!

She is truly the heart of our front office and one of the first smiling faces our students, parents, and staff see each day. She keeps our school moving, supports our staff, and makes everyone feel welcomed and valued.

Today, we’re celebrating Instructional Specialist Appreciation Day, and we want to give a very special shoutout to our own Mrs. Nitteberg! 📚

Mrs. Nitteberg works tirelessly to help make Saraland Middle School the best it can be. She supports our teachers, helps our students succeed, shares ideas and resources, solves problems, and is always willing to step in wherever she is needed.
So much of what she does may happen behind the scenes, but her hard work and dedication make a difference throughout our entire school every single day.

Saraland Middle School is PROUD to recognize Isaac Itza for his outstanding achievement of being selected as a member of the FBLA National Middle School Council.

This prestigious honor is awarded to student leaders who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and commitment to the mission of Future Business Leaders of America. As a member of the National Middle School Council, Isaac will have the opportunity to represent middle school students from across the nation, provide valuable input on FBLA programs and initiatives, and help shape the future of the organization.

🎃📚 BOOK CHARACTER PUMPKIN CONTEST! 📚🎃

Get creative, Spartans! ❤️🖤 Our library is hosting a Book Character Pumpkin Contest, and we can't wait to see your favorite book characters come to life! 🎨🎃

📅 Pumpkin Drop-Off Dates:
Monday, October 19 – Monday, October 26

📍 Drop off pumpkins in the SMS Library!

🎃 CONTEST RULES: 📚 Pumpkins must represent a favorite book character. Be sure to include the book title and author on your entry form!

🚫🔪 NO CARVED PUMPKINS ALLOWED! Fake pumpkins are highly encouraged. Pumpkins may be painted, decorated, and transformed in all kinds of creative ways!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This is a home project! Students should do most of the work, but parents may lend a helping hand. Make it a fun family activity!

🤫 Please do not write your name on your pumpkin. Mrs. Brown will collect your pumpkin and entry form when you drop it off.

🏆 CATEGORIES: 6th Grade | 7th Grade | 8th Grade | Staff

🎁 PRIZES FOR EACH CATEGORY:
🥇 1st Place — $15 Gift Certificate
🥈 2nd Place — $10 Gift Certificate
🥉 3rd Place — $5 Gift Certificate

👩‍⚖️ A panel of judges will select the winners!
