Chris’s journey with black bear photography began right here in Saraland back in 2002, when he captured his very first image of one of these incredible animals—an experience that sparked a lifelong passion. Since then, his breathtaking work has earned statewide recognition and continues to highlight the beauty of Alabama’s natural landscapes.

The 2025 ornament features bears from some of Chris’s most celebrated photographs, making it not only a gorgeous keepsake but also a tribute to the wildlife that helps shape our community’s unique character.

The Oakley at Saraland is excited to partner with the North Mobile County Angel Tree Program to help bring Christmas joy to local children in need. ✨

We are currently collecting new, unwrapped single gift items, with a special emphasis on teens and older children—though all donations are greatly appreciated!
