July 24, 2019 Summer Update #1
will be the informational newsletter to celebrate and recognize all happenings in that occur at the K-8 building. It will include a calendar of events as well as stories about out students and amazing staff. Please feel free to share and ask others in the community to subscribe.

Popsicle World Tour
In an effort to get connect with families and students, some of the Noble Local Staff will be out in the community on August 5 to meet with students and families. We will have popsicles for the students.

Scheduling Meeting for 7th and 8th graders!!!!!!
Families of 7th and 8th graders,
We would like to meet with you on Monday, August 5 at 6 p.m. In an effort to continue to expand our course offerings and prepare our students to be Future Ready, we have added a couple elective courses. We would like to meet and explain the new course offerings as well as allow students to sign up for an robotics elective. We will have Mr. Jarvis Huck on staff this year and he will be a part of our STEM course offerings for 7th and 8th graders. This meeting will last about 45 minutes and provide an overview of the STEM course and robotics elective. Mr. Jarvis Huck, our new STEM and robotics teacher here at Noble will be here to answer questions as well. We hope you can attend and find out about this exciting opportunity.
Welcome to Kindergarten!!!!
For our incoming kindergarten students, we will be holding a kindergarten orientation on Thursday, August 8.
9:00 a.m.: Students with last names beginning with A through L.
10:15 a.m.: Students with last names beginning with M through Z.
We will cover bus safety and other procedures with the students and families as well as meet your child's teacher and visit the classroom. If you have not registered and scheduled for the assessment times, you may do so during orientation or you may call the elementary office and schedule in advance.
If you have not turned in all of your paperwork, please remember the following must be turned in:
Birth Certificate
Residency
Custody papers if applicable
Current and up to date Shot Records
School Registration paperwork
The first day of school for kindergarten students will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

Board Advisory Meeting on July 31, 2019
Mr. Leffingwell, Noble Local Superintendent, would like to invite the community to the Board Advisory Meeting on July 31 at 6 p.m. This meeting will highlight some of the changes taking place at Noble Local as well as provide an update on future plans. An agenda is below. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Noble Local and what we have to offer your students.

Introduction
First, I wanted to thank all the families and community members who have already made me feel right at home here at Noble Local. I am excited about the future and the opportunities for students here at Noble Local.
I am beginning my 24th year in education with the last 12 years serving as a building principal. Most recently, I was building principal at Graham Elementary near Urbana, OH in a K-5 building with around 900 students. Prior to that I served as building principal at Medway Elementary in the Tecumseh Local Schools District outside of Springfield, OH. Before being a principal, I was both an intervention specialist and Title I reading teacher at almost every grade between Kdg and 8th grade at Graham Local and Jefferson Local Schools. Along the way, I have coached basketball, track, and assisted with golf. In my spare time, I enjoy fishing and golfing; however, most of the time, I serve as Uber driver for my son, Cale. I have been married to my wife, Chrissy, for 22 years.
Again, thank you and I look forward to meeting everyone and working to continue and expand on the great things at Shenandoah Elementary/Middle School.

This video was produced in May and gives a snapshot of what the future is for Noble Local. Our goal at Noble Local is to prepare students for their future. This involves more than a traditional classroom experience that many of us are familiar with. It involves critical thinking and problem solving. The ability to tell you story or share your information with technology. It involves being able to work as a team and collaborate rather than in isolation. At the K-8 building, we want to ignite the dreams of our students, empower them to be and develop the leadership skills along with the academic skills to have a bright future. Throughout this year, we will have conversations with the community, with the families, and the students what the K-8 experience should look like. Together, we will develop a plan for what a successful 8th grade student will look like. It is an exciting time to be part of .
