What an incredible day at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School!

My favorite OG Pulmonary & Critical Care MD from Scripps, Dr. Boyd-King, delivered an amazing presentation on Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), the importance of high-quality CPR, and lifesaving AED use. She also walked the staff through what post-resuscitation care can look like in the hospital alongside the incredible Scripps ECMO/Critical Care team.

We had the opportunity to demonstrate AED use and hands-on emergency response training with the staff and it was inspiring to see that all the teachers are already CPR certified and happy to learn even more. ❤️👏

From recognizing SCA to understanding advanced hospital care like ECMO/CPR, this was such an educational experience.

We had such a great time partnering with Street Corner Care and the incredible medical students who created a clinic downtown. 🩺

This clinic provides healthcare services and food to the homeless community, meeting people where they are and offering support that truly matters. We were inspired by their professionalism, compassion, and dedication to serving others.

Grateful to learn, collaborate, and be part of something so meaningful. 💙

Yesterday, the Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation screened 467 students at Grossmont High School—Brooklyn was one of them. Six students were found to have abnormalities, and three were identified as being at risk for sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

It’s hard to overstate how important these screenings are, and how critical CPR and AED use can be in saving lives. Starting in 2027, California law will require all sports programs to have coaches who are trained and certified in CPR.

Please help spread awareness about SCA—awareness truly saves lives.

Huge THANK YOU to Chula Vista and their incredible managers for putting the safety of their players FIRST. ❤️⚾️

This weekend we certified 29 managers in CPR & AED use, training that will be required by law in 2027.

A very special thank you to Bobbie Bonilla, a Bonita Vista high school sophomore who applied for a grant to make sure her community’s Little League was ready for a cardiac emergency. Your leadership is inspiring! 👏

The foundation selected the perfect AED for their league, supporting this mission to save lives.

Chula Vista American now has:
✅ Certified CPR/AED-trained managers
✅ The right AED in place
✅ A Cardiac Emergency Response Plan ready to go

We couldn’t be happier knowing every one of these managers can recognize Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and act FAST when seconds matter.

If you or your team need to get CPR certified, visit for more information.

Three photos. Three moments we will never forget. ❤️

Earlier this year my dad needed emergency open heart surgery. What’s scary? His symptom wasn’t dramatic chest pain.

It was jaw pain. That was it.

No one expects jaw pain to be a sign of a cardiac event. But it can be. And without immediate medical care, his story could have ended very differently.

Today, he is doing GREAT. Strong. Smiling. Grateful. ❤️
This is exactly why we do what we do at SafePlay CPR & AED Training.

Because Cardiac emergencies don’t always look the way you expect. Symptoms can be subtle and seconds matter.

Immediate action saves lives.

While CPR and AEDs don’t prevent blocked arteries, they are critical when sudden cardiac arrest happens — and survival depends on someone nearby knowing what to do.

➡️Education creates awareness.
➡️Training builds confidence.
➡️Preparedness saves lives.

If sharing his story helps even one person recognize a symptom sooner, take a class, or place an AED where it’s needed — it’s worth it.

Know the signs.
Trust your instincts.
Be prepared.

✅ A written cardiac emergency response plan is required

🗓 By January 1, 2028
✅ AEDs must be accessible during practices & games
✅ AEDs must be properly maintained and tested

Preparedness saves lives 💪
Let’s make this year one of safer youth sports.

❤️Youth Med Discovery Day — Inspiring Future Healthcare Leaders!

We were proud to partner with the GMAP Foundation for Youth Med Discovery Day, a hands-on skills lab designed for young adults exploring careers in medicine.

Students practiced CPR and AED techniques, suturing, and mock surgical exercises gaining real-world experience alongside medical professionals. 👩🏽‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️

It was truly a pleasure working alongside all of the amazing volunteers who made this event possible. We’re excited for continued community outreach and unity through programs that empower and inspire the next generation of healthcare heroes. 💙

A special thank you to Al Raymond and the GMAP Foundation team for leading such an impactful event!

Had an awesome time certifying the team at La Mesa Pediatrics! 💪🩺

💡 Most pediatric cardiac arrests happen at home — and in fact ~83% of children’s out-of-hospital arrests occur in the home environment.

💡 Only ~15.9% of children aged 1-18 who have an out-of-hospital arrest and are treated by EMS survive to hospital discharge.

❤️ Early CPR can double or triple a child’s chance of survival.

Huge shoutout to this amazing staff for keeping their community safe! 🙌
