Meet Amelia! This lady can light up any room with her kind soul and we are excited to feature her so everyone can get to know her more 💕
🪽 What do you hope your students feel when they practice with you?
I hope my students feel connected to their minds and bodies, grounded in their experience, inspired by the joy of movement, and a sense of belonging within a community. My intention is that when they leave my class, they have a greater capacity to be present and show up for themselves and the people around them. I love that yoga creates space for everyone’s unique experiences and encourages people to tune inward and connect with themselves. I hope each student feels supported, accepted, and welcomed
as they are.
🪽 Where are you from?
I grew up in Oakland, California, and have been living in San Diego for the past three years. I love San Diego and all it has to offer—from the beautiful beaches and hikes to the wonderful people!
🪽 What teachers have inspired you in your practice and yoga journey?
I fell in love with yoga through the guidance of so many incredible teachers along the way. Their passion, creativity, and dedication continue to inspire me, and I am constantly learning from the community around me.

✨️Teacher Spotlight✨️
Meet one of the OG Balanced Yogis, Alyssa Rose! Alyssa is the curator of PositiviTea, the lovely tea blends that we drink and enjoy in studio! We asked her some questions to get to know her better.
🫖 What do you hope your students feel when they practice with you?
I want my students to feel grounded, comfortable, and more in tune with themselves. I encourage moving with curiosity instead of judgment, and leaving ego at the door. It all starts with showing up for yourself. I also love when people can feel the rhythm in their breath and movement and just trust it.
🫖Where are you from?
I grew up in Imperial Beach. I moved away when I got a little older and found myself back. San Diego will always be a home to me.
🫖What teachers have inspired you in your practice and yoga journey?
I’ve been inspired the most by Patanjali, Adi Shankaracharya, and Larry Schultz’s teachings. They each brought something different; discipline, self-inquiry, and flow with music. I see the body like an instrument, it needs rhythm, attention, and tuning. And that’s how I approach yoga too, more something you feel and explore than try to perfect.

🌟Teacher Spotlight 🌟
Meet Amanda! She has been with The Balanced Yogi for some time and holds down some of our Sunrise Club classes at 6 AM!
We asked her some questions to get to know her better.
🐚 what do you hope your students feel when they practice with you?
I hope my students feel the creativity I bring into the space—something unique enough to leave a lasting impression and a smile long after class ends.
I aim to create a balance of strength, playfulness, and peace… all woven together like a dance.
This is my art. And watching it come to life—evolve, expand, and deepen through each student—is where the magic truly is.
🐚 Where are you from and what do you enjoy doing outside of the studio?
I'm From Riverside California, but I feel native to SD because I've been here for 16 years lol
I enjoy being in the kitchen. But I'm still learning how to bake. I'll go out of my way to sit or be in the sun , anything outdoor and I'm a happy girl.
To unwind I enjoy listening to a good podcast and having a glass of wine.
🐚 Tell us about your yoga journey and who has inspired you along the way.
My first ever yoga class was in 2015 at an event held at Mission Brewery led By Lauren Padula. She is a big influence on my style of teaching to create smooth and fluid movement that not only brings strength but feels similar to a dance. She had this great knowledge of the anatomy and fluidity in movement so I apply that still in my teaching.
Shortly after I went to YTT with Carolina Vivas. I loved it so much I led my own YTT in 2019 at Bloom Yoga.
My online Superstars are Brian Kest, Eri Kelly and Dylan Warner and anyone on social media with a unique spin on a a traditional pose. I'm always looking for new and fun variations of poses.
I try to keep my flows fun and playful. I'm always looking to apply different movements and training drills from dance, ballet, Jiu-Jitsu and often Calisthenic movements.
