Celebrating the life of Lew Souza (shown here, top row center). Lew started Aikido in 1972 in Fresno. He joined the SD County Aikido dojo in 1974, receiving his first degree black belt in 1980. Continuing on through his fifth degree belt locally, he moved to back to Fresno around 2012. Widely known and respected by practitioners at many martial arts studios in San Diego and Fresno, he was a true ambassador of the Aikido art form.
