Orchard Hills Elementary kicked off the new school year in spectacular fashion, with Ozzy making a special appearance to greet both students and teachers. Excitement filled the air as students strutted down a red carpet, beaming with big smiles and anticipation for the journey ahead. The festive atmosphere set a positive tone for the year, and while students thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations, the day left everyone happily exhausted. After a well-deserved good night's rest, the entire Orchard Hills community is eager to return and continue their adventure together

Welcome Shonda Morse: Our New Librarian with a Passion for Books and Adventure!

Orchard Hills Elementary is thrilled to welcome Shonda Morse as our new librarian! With nearly 27 years of dedicated service in Nebo School District—including 21 years as a Title One Tech and five years as a librarian—Shonda brings a wealth of experience and a contagious enthusiasm for sharing the joy of reading with young minds. Her love for inspiring students makes her a perfect fit for our school family. Outside of school, Shonda enjoys spending time with her two beloved dogs, Daisy and Dolly, and pampering her treat-loving mule. A committed runner and adventurer, she’s always training for races or planning her dream trip to Greece. We are so excited to have Shonda join our team and can’t wait to see the energy and creativity she brings to our library and community!

Teachers at Orchard Hills started the new school year in full bloom, coming together to arrange vibrant flower displays as part of their welcome-back celebration. Embracing this year’s inspiring theme, “Let’s Root for Each Other and Help Each Other Grow,” educators filled the halls with both beautiful arrangements and a renewed sense of community. The collaborative activity was not only a creative way to set a positive tone for the year but also a reminder of the school’s commitment to supporting one another. With the classrooms nearly ready and spirits high, staff members are eagerly looking forward to welcoming students back next week, ready to nurture growth and success together.

Welcome Mrs. Megan Bird!
Orchard Hills Elementary is delighted to announce that Mrs. Megan Bird is coming to our school community! We are thrilled to have her join our dedicated staff, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Mrs. Bird comes to us with 8 years of teaching experience, having taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades, as well as serving as an instructional coach for a year. Her ability to create a classroom community that inspires a love of learning is something we deeply value at Orchard Hills. As Mrs. Bird herself shares:
“I love teaching students and creating a positive classroom community that fosters a love for learning. I am thrilled to be back in the classroom.”
We know her commitment to students and her expertise will be a tremendous asset to our school.
Outside of teaching, Mrs. Bird enjoys spending time with her almost 5-year-old son, who keeps her on her toes! She also loves reading, camping, and painting. She’s eager to become reacquainted with the families and students that make Orchard Hills such a special place:
“I can’t wait to meet my students and their families and be part of the incredible Orchard Hills community. It’s going to be a wonderful year!”

Welcome Kasidie Osborn to Orchard Hills Elementary!

Orchard Hills Elementary is thrilled to announce the newest addition to our teaching team: Mrs. Kasidie Osborn, who will be joining us as a second-grade teacher this year!

We are genuinely excited to welcome Kasidie, whose passion for education and commitment to student growth aligns perfectly with our school's values. Kasidie recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University, and she is eager to begin her teaching career doing what she loves.

Kasidie grew up in Tabiona, Utah, and now calls Santaquin home, where she lives with her husband, Payden, and their two daughters, Ruby and Clancy. In her own words, “I believe every child is capable of learning, growing, and achieving great things.” She also shared, “My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn each day.”

Outside the classroom, Kasidie enjoys spending quality time with her family, camping, moving cows, riding horses, and baking. These interests reflect her love for adventure and her appreciation for meaningful, hands-on experiences—qualities she is sure to bring into her classroom.

Kasidie is looking forward to “learning alongside my students, celebrating their success, and creating meaningful memories together throughout the school year.” She adds, “I can’t wait for a wonderful year of learning, laughter, adventure, and growth with my second-grade class.”

We are confident that Kasidie’s energy, caring nature, and dedication to student success will make a positive impact on our school community. Please join us in giving her a warm Orchard Hills welcome!

Welcome Miss B (Grace Bauman) to Orchard Hills Elementary!

We are thrilled to announce that Miss B (Grace Bauman will be joining our Orchard Hills Elementary family as our new 4th grade teacher!

Miss B comes to us with a year of teaching experience, having taught 5th grade at Vineyard Elementary last year. She brings a wonderful enthusiasm for learning and a passion for teaching that we know will inspire our students.

A little about Miss B: She is originally from Holladay, Utah—just outside of downtown Salt Lake City. She attended Snow College and Utah Valley University, and outside of the classroom, she loves spending time outdoors. Whether it's hiking, paddle boarding, fishing, or camping, Miss B is always up for an adventure!

We are so excited to welcome Miss B to Orchard Hills Elementary and are confident that she will be a fantastic addition to our staff. Her energy, creativity, and love for students will help make this a wonderful year for our 4th graders.
