Hired by the King to dramatize a suspicious 1605 terrorist plot, William Shakespeare uncovers a bizarre truth that forces his troupe into a deadly dilemma as the actors must choose between risking their necks or fabricating a lie. This gripping alternate history, which blends humor and drama, plays the Condiotti Theatre August 28th through September 13th, 2026. Tickets available now at spreckelsonline.com!

This is a witty and poignant ensemble piece in which six actors play well over a dozen roles, some of which include snippets of Shakespeare's other plays-in-progress (one of which becomes the famous Macbeth.) Equivocation features the powerful cast of Jereme Anglin, Drew Bolander, Kevin Bordi, Jeff Coté, Natalie Tichenor & Zane Walters.

The clever and fast-paced storytelling will draw you into a world of intrigue and deceptions as Shagspeare and his company must grapple with artistic and ethical quandaries that mean the difference between life and death!
