🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ This month at Pryor Family Child Care, we’re learning about what it means to be a SUPERHERO! 💥❤️

Our little superheroes are learning that having superpowers isn’t just about capes and flying it’s about sharing, kindness, helping others, empathy, and caring for the people around us. 🥰

We’ll be practicing how to be a good friend, take turns, share our toys, help others, and use our everyday “superpowers” to make a difference. 🌎✨

Because even the smallest superheroes can make a BIG difference! 💙💛

🚗 California Car Seat & Seat Belt Law Preparing for 2027

As a childcare provider, I wanted to share an important reminder with all of our families so everyone has plenty of time to prepare for changes coming to California’s child passenger safety laws.

Beginning January 1, 2027, California will have updated requirements regarding how children ages 8–15 are properly restrained by a vehicle seat belt. The law places additional emphasis on proper seat-belt fit, including the 5-Step Test.

For a seat belt to fit properly, a child should be able to:

✅ Sit all the way back against the vehicle seat

✅ Bend their knees comfortably at the edge of the seat

✅ Have the shoulder belt cross the center of their chest and shoulder — not their neck

✅ Have the lap belt sit low across the hips/thighs — not the stomach

✅ Stay properly positioned for the entire ride

This is a great time for parents to check your child’s current car seat or booster seat and make sure it is still appropriate for their age, size, and development. Age alone doesn’t determine when a child is ready to ride safely without a booster.

Please take some time to review the upcoming law and make sure your family is prepared before the January 2027 effective date.

There’s something so special about welcoming our new little babies and watching them find their rhythm with us. 💕 We love seeing them settle into our days while our preschoolers are busy learning, exploring, playing, and having fun in the wildest ways! 🤩

From baby giggles to preschool adventures, friendships, new skills, and growing confidence, our days are full of so much joy. 🥰🌈 We are truly grateful for all of our families in care and feel so lucky to grow and learn together each day! 💕

🌟 A NEW Addition to Our Preschool Day! 🌟

We’re so excited to introduce our Little Helper Station! 🧹🧽🍎📚

Our preschoolers will now have the opportunity to choose special classroom jobs throughout the day helping with things like being a Snack Helper, Table Washer, Calendar Helper, Weather Helper, Animal Feeder, Line Leader, and more! 💕

These little jobs are about so much more than helping they’re helping our children build independence, confidence, responsibility, social-emotional skills, and pride in being part of our classroom community. They also give our little learners opportunities to practice coordination and following daily routines.

We’ll encourage each child to choose a job, guide them through it, and celebrate their efforts along the way. Watching their confidence blossom as they realize, “I can do it!” is the best part! 🌱✨
