Our mission is building community through the enrichment of our students. Guidelines and Code of Conduct for San Miguel Elementary PTO Members
Purpose: The purpose of our group is to provide resources and build a community for parents and teachers at San Miguel Elementary. We are a parent and teacher organization dedicated to enriching children's education by providing programs and activities at
San Miguel Elementary. Goal: Our goal is to share information and tips, update the school community on events and programs, and showcase the achievements of students, teachers, and other community members. Members: No membership fee. Members are parents or legal guardians of a student currently enrolled at San Miguel Elementary. Community and Social Media Rules:
• We encourage you to ask questions constructively and keep it non confrontational. We request that you keep discussions focused directly concerning our school community. When you have questions or concerns, please contact the PTO group directly. Do not use any platform related to the PTO for personal issues.
• We encourage involvement that is positive and highlight our students, teachers, and community’s accomplishments.
• When posting on social media or sharing at a PTO event or meeting, please use appropriate language and behavior. Respect differences of opinion. Remember that children are involved and hear conversations or see social media posts.
• If you choose, you can post photos of your children at school events. Do not post photos of other children without their parent or legal guardians consent. If you have any questions about posting something, please check with the page (group) administrator.
• Do not share personal concerns, problems, or conflicts with individual teachers, administrators, students, or parents.
•We will immediately delete posts that in any way put down or discriminate against individuals.
• Do not share information commonly understood as confidential.
• Any inflammatory statements that make allegations against individuals or the organization will be deleted from social media and further involvement with the group may be denied.
• Any advertising for businesses on social media or at a PTO event is not allowed.
• Be respectful and responsible; this is about the enrichment of the students and our school community. The PTO board and PTO Facebook administrators reserve the right to delete comments on social media, block users, and ban further involvement of those who are not following the rules stated above.
