California Poets in the Schools: Humboldt, Trinity, Del Norte, Siskiyou This page is for CalPoets poets from Humboldt, Trinity, Del Norte, and Siskiyou counties, CalPoets/POL students, and teachers who want to keep in touch.

Thank you all for joining this page. I will be posting CalPoets info on this page from time to time so you can get a sense of our poetry program. If you have Humboldt, Trinity, Del Norte, or Siskiyou contacts—schools, teachers, staff—who would like to have CalPoets or Poetry Out Loud programming—please feel free to share them. You can message me privately as well. Or you can contact the Statewide

Office to leave us a message. My goal is to create an easy way for us all to stay in touch, so feel free to post your CalPoets/poetry related events here as well.

—Dan Zev Levinson, Area Coordinator for California Poets in the Schools, Humboldt, Trinity, Del Norte, and Siskiyou Counties.

Yay CalPoets, and Meg Hamill, and my 4th-grade Ambrosini student!

Thanks to all who've brought us this far. If you haven't yet offered a year-end gift, consider doing so today and help us cross the finish line by December 31st. Donate through Facebook here: (All fees through Facebook are waived.) https://www.facebook.com/donate/680201493539329/

In our poetry workshops, we celebrate authenticity and heartful self-expression amongst youth - instilling tools and awareness that can lead to more and deeper connections, decreased levels of stress, and increased emotional resilience.

I’ll Always Believe

I believe in poetry. It feels so right.
It sounds so sweet. I believe that poetry
is a good way to let go of emotions
so they don’t bottle up and blow. When I
write poetry I feel like I’m in a titanium
box and nothing can reach me. It sounds
like a waterfall in spring. I believe.
