Piner High School

Piner High School Welcome to Piner Jr & Sr High! Piner High School opened its doors to students on September 12, 1966, and Albert F. Biella was appointed first principal.

A new chapter begins August 17, 2026 when Piner will proudly serve students in grades 7–12, bringing together two outstanding school communities to create something extraordinary. Piner High School History

During 1965, plans for Piner High School were completed and approved by the Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Education. The school was planned to be constructed in two phases: Phase One consis

ted of two classroom buildings, the instructional media center, the language laboratory, the industrial arts building, a cafeteria, a music and administration complex, and a gymnasium. Phase Two, completed in March 1974, consisted of a vocal music facility, a large home economics facility, seven classrooms, a departmental office, an automotive shop, and general administration and counseling offices. The school encompasses 47 acres. In recent years, portables have been added to accomomodate the growth of student population and most recently, in January 1997, the Ed Anderson Gymnasium was completed. A new performing arts center opened in October 2001. The area around the school was settled in the early years of the county's history. "Piner" was the name of an early pioneer family that settled in this area. The high school is located within the Santa Rosa City limits and within the boundaries of the present Piner-Olivet Elementary District. A student/faculty committee selected "Prospectors" as the school's mascot. They also selected the school colors - maroon, gold, and white
