A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, presented by the Mark West Area Chamber of Commerce. Bravo to all the musicians who performed, featuring 4th-, 5th-, and 6th-grade students from the Mark West District on marimbas, violins, guitars, chorus, and hand percussion instruments! Another huge thank you to all the people who helped to make the event possible.

Please stay tuned for the 4th-6th graders' next performance at the annual District Winter Concert on Thursday, February 22, 2024. All district music students will perform at this event in the Mark West gym.

Finally, the music program is supported by the Mark West Education Foundation. If any parents or community members are interested in doing more to support music education in the district, please consider joining us at our next board meeting in January (date TBA). We are also searching for new board members, including president and vice president. Please email Kara Kaufman at [email protected] if you would like to learn more.

The Mark West Education Foundation is seeking a willing parent or community member to join our monthly board meeting as secretary and record the meeting minutes.
We meet for just one hour on the first Monday of each month at the District Office Learning Center.
